IT CANNOLI BE MURDER by Catherine Bruns, the second book in the Italian Chef Mysteries series is a wonderful follow-up to book 1--Penne Dreadful. Tessa is working toward her restaurant opening when she is drawn to her cousin's urgent request to provide goodies, AKA cannoli, for Gabby's bookstore. Unfortunately, later a body is found with one of Tessa's cannoli nearby. What follows is a twisted path with a fast pace to uncover the evil-doer. A great read and series! I am ready for book #3!

FANTASTIC BOOK!
This is a series I’m definitely going to keep buying as soon as new books are released.
Catherine Bruns wrote another page turner of a mystery that brings us back to Harvest Park for another mystery. Tessa is realizing her dream of opening up a restaurant while also helping out her best friend’s book signing. When someone turns up dead with cannoli nearby, suspicion is directed towards Tessa since hers were served at the signing event.
With wonderful characters and a riveting story, I couldn’t stop reading this book once I started. Who needs sleep, right?
If you’re looking for a great new series, I highly recommend picking this one. I promise, you won’t be disappointed!
I received this book as an ARC from NetGalley in return for leaving an honest review.

3.5 stars! This is the second book in the Italian Chef Mysteries series. I enjoyed this one more than the first book, and hope that the author writes more books with these characters! The only downside is that when I read these books I crave all the Italian food, and this one gave me major cravings for cannoli.

This is definitely a cozy mystery! I really enjoyed the characters but they were frustrating at times. I just wanted more from it.
I felt like the pacing was… off. There was jumps in setting, and the whole mystery was meant to take place within a week-ish, but the timing did not feel right to me. There were also a few discoveries that just did not make sense (i.e. the blood test). I wish the inclusion of the new detective had been revisited more, as he was talked about a lot but only in one scene.
It did feel a bit repetitive to me in terms of the cooking moments. I did enjoy the inclusion of the recipes at the end and thought that was a super sweet addition.
Overall, 2/5 for me - I would not likely recommend this to a mystery enthusiast, but an unlikely maybe to someone who wants a “turn your brain off” kind of read. Another review described it as bland, and I thought that was very accurate.

A good second installment for this seires! As always, I love the food related scenes and enjoyed returning characters from the first in the series.
There were some points I thought the main characters were going to jeopardise the case and the murderer was pretty obvious (to me anyway) but a nice book and a nice ending
The story is good but I just find it a bit bland? I don't know what it is but nothing drives me to want to carry on the story? I normally blame narration but I think Celesete Ciula does a good job! Not sure what it is, maybe it just isn't for me! But sure others would love it!
