The story was a little traumatic, but I understand why it had to happen since I read the first book first. I liked it, but the headapace I am in made me rate it a 3.
Graphic: Toxic relationship

This is a frightening prequel that helps fill in the blanks on the incidents alluded to in These Witches Don't Burn. The trauma and fear that Hannah is experiencing in that book become quite clear with the backstory provided. Along the way, it also identifies what happened with Veronica and Hannah's relationship, allowing us to better understand the results of the bad break-up, as well. Fast paced and good addition to the series.

Tori you Caster Bitch!
Also Veronica. You Bitch!
Oh my fricking god, Hannah how could you survive in a relationship with her? That woman is a prick!
But god was this prequel novella good.

Honestly, anything by this author deserves five stars. Every one of her books, it's like an up-all-night-page-turner. I couldn't put the book down!

this was v fun! i love these witches <3
this is the prequel to these witches don’t burn so we obvs already know what happened in that book so it was slightly repetitive but did full in the gaps about what happened before the first book

This was a cute little prequel to explain the events that caused these witches don’t burn to turn out the way they did. Explained a lot of what lead up to V and Hannah to break up also (which in my opinion was super justified). Tied some pieces together still excited for the next book in the series
