This is a frightening prequel that helps fill in the blanks on the incidents alluded to in These Witches Don't Burn. The trauma and fear that Hannah is experiencing in that book become quite clear with the backstory provided. Along the way, it also identifies what happened with Veronica and Hannah's relationship, allowing us to better understand the results of the bad break-up, as well. Fast paced and good addition to the series.
