4 stars - It was really good

For five thousand years, Revenant believed he was a fallen angel beyond redemption. Now he finds he has a twin brother who is an angel, is fighting his desire for a mysterious female named Blaspheme, and is caught in a tug of war game between Heaven and Hell.

Revenant’s world has turned upside down since Reaver regained his memory. He no longer is sure of his place in Hell or in the world really. He is struggling to come to terms with what being a Radiant means while dealing with Heaven and Hell’s ultimatums. The only comfort and peace he is finding is with Blasphemy, but she is also keeping secrets. Revenant’s story was a wonderful redemption story that I didn’t want to put down. He is a tortured soul but he still is a good person, mostly anyways. Also I loved how sweet he was with Blaspheme. Who knew he was such a softie?

“You brought me back to life in more ways than one, Blaspheme, and I never want to be without that lifeline again.”

Blaspheme is a doctor at UG and is known as a false angel but that isn’t the whole truth. She has been hiding her true nature since she was born and the concealment is starting to fade. Blaspheme was a wonderful character. She was strong, smart, and compassionate. I loved that she never let Revenant push her around. She was always telling him off and putting him in his place, which is just what he needed. Their relationship was steamy, intense, and emotional, and I loved every minute of it.

The ending of this book was a surprise. I was not expecting another battle against Hell again but Revenant and Reaver really surprised everyone. While this does technically end the current overarching story, I am glad this isn't’ the last book. I am not ready for this series to end.

Trigger Warnings: torture, rape, imprisonment, death of children mentioned, matricide, cannibalism

Revenant is pissed. He's had his memories wiped TWICE and found out he is a twin to Reaver, but while Reaver was brought up an angel Revenant spent his childhood in hell, literally, being tortured by demons. Having been forced to swallow demon blood as a child Revenant is tainted and cannot visit heaven without leaving a trail of devastation. Yet, now his angelic side is unlocking his feelings and empathy.

Blaspheme is a vyrm - hated equally both good and evil - she hides her true self under a transfiguration spell which makes her seem a fallen angel. But the spell is failing and unless she is willing to sacrifice an unwilling victim her true nature will be revealed.

Oh and Satan is about to be reborn!

Rev starts off as a bit of an asshole. He has spent five thousand years thinking he was evil and doing evil's bidding. he has no scruples and uses people shamelessly. But he feels something for Blas. Can he overcome his awful childhood and become an angel?

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, Rev was a suitably alpha hero who stepped up and had plenty of snark.

My heart went out to Revenant during this book. It struck me especially after rereading Styxx that there were a lot of parallels. Twins, one "good" one "bad" arbitrarily assigned to their roles and with the bad one being absolutely shat on way worse than the good one.

And I loved that.

Oh my, where to start? REVENANT is packed full of everything that I could want in a paranormal story. Lies, betrayal, the fall out from broken and previously revealed family ties, love, lust, and sex all tied into a wonderfully twisty plot with lots of action.

Revenant and Blaspheme make an explosively hot and complicated couple. Revenant is an unapologetic jerk. Cocky and self assured with all of his powers, Revenant doesn't bother with pleasantries and trivial things like tact and empathy. Justifiably angry at what he has endured and will have to continue to be in order to provide balance with Radiant. Oh, boy is it hard to review this without spoilers slipping free! Revenant has desired Blaspheme from the start and now he is going after her. He puts Blaspheme on notice and it is very hard for her to continue to resist him.

Blaspheme is a doctor in Underworld General Hospital. Because of what she is Blas just wants to be left alone, lay low, and stay off of everyone's radar. Especially Revenant's. That's a big negative Ghost Rider! Revenanat knows what he wants and he won't stop until he has her. Despite Revenant's persistence Blas continues to deny her own desires for as long as she can. When Rev and Blas come together it's explosive and all consuming for them both. It's always good to see the cocky bad boy fall.

Larissa Ione brought this series to an end with a bang and I am so glad that I was along for the ride!

So much happened in this book! So many reveals, and emotions! And I totally forgot how they resolved everything, and it was so great! Can't wait to read more!

This book! Oh! The feels! Fantastic book, and I just really, really want to read more, even though I've basically caught up to what's been published thus far!

Title – Revenant
Author – Larissa Ione
Publication Date – December 16, 2014
Type – Paperback
Genre – Paranormal/Fantasy
Rating – 4.5 out of 5 Stars

Revenant is easily my favorite hunky angelic hunk in the Lord of Deliverance series. He's gorgeous, badass, had a bitching sense of humor and is the kind of guy you can hang with in a dive bar on a Saturday night and have a blast getting drunk and kicking ass. He also has enough issues to fill the Marina Trench and his backstory will make you weep.

Blaspheme is a angel doctor at UG and she has her own set of issue and secrets. With a crazy momma, being hunted by angels and a quickly fading fallen angel disguise, she isn't sure who she can trust or how much longer she'll be alive.

These two came together in spectacular fashion and had me enthralled from the very first page. I loved their witty banter, Blas's take no crap attitude and Rev's constant cocky wise cracks. Their relationship formed even though neither wanted it or acknowledged it happening. The fought wanting each other as hard as they could until it was so obvious that it was inevitable. Even when everything seemed to be against them, they found the had each other to lean on. There were parts of Rev's story that had me teary eyed. That he survived everything that he did was a testament to his mom's love for him. It was so heartening to learn that all his and his mother's sacrifices were not in vain.

There is so much that I could write about how much I loved this book, but I can't. I'd be here forever. If you enjoyed any part of this series, you have to read this book. It ties up so many end and answers so many questions. I am hoping that there will be more books in the series, but if this is the last, I would be satisfied with the ending and would read the entire Demonica/Lords of Deliverance series all over again.
