Revenant by Larissa Ione
4.0
Revenant is pissed. He's had his memories wiped TWICE and found out he is a twin to Reaver, but while Reaver was brought up an angel Revenant spent his childhood in hell, literally, being tortured by demons. Having been forced to swallow demon blood as a child Revenant is tainted and cannot visit heaven without leaving a trail of devastation. Yet, now his angelic side is unlocking his feelings and empathy.
Blaspheme is a vyrm - hated equally both good and evil - she hides her true self under a transfiguration spell which makes her seem a fallen angel. But the spell is failing and unless she is willing to sacrifice an unwilling victim her true nature will be revealed.
Oh and Satan is about to be reborn!
Rev starts off as a bit of an asshole. He has spent five thousand years thinking he was evil and doing evil's bidding. he has no scruples and uses people shamelessly. But he feels something for Blas. Can he overcome his awful childhood and become an angel?
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, Rev was a suitably alpha hero who stepped up and had plenty of snark.
