This is the review for Asil and the Not-Date (since it doesn't have it's own entry, I had to indicate multiple editions for this anthology)
I really enjoyed this chapter, it's a great way of following Asil from the Mercy Thompson's world.
I have read this entry once, on February 28th 2020

Only read Asil and the Not-Date. Rounded up. I enjoyed reading more about Asil. When you get to be a really old werewolf you need something to keep engaged so that the wolf doesn't break free. Asil has some "Concerned Friends" that have set up five dates for him from online dating sites. He has finished two.

I love it when an anthology introduces me to new authors. This one did not disappoint.

Listened to the audio book, which had excellent narration, easy to listen to, with clear differences between characters in dialogue.
Like the title says, these stories have hope. Sometimes it's a very slender hope, and they're not all happy endings, but there is a sense that sacrifices pay off, and the day is mostly saved.

A great collection that came, in a timely fashion, soon after Lightspeed to wash the taste of that terrible collection out of my mouth. It's primarily SF with a bit of fantasy. Unlike Lightspeed, where I mentioned the few stories that were readable, almost all of this was above average. The few that weren't were typically retelling of standard stories, trying for a different angle but being too trite. I'll leave those to you to find.
Collections are always a mixed bag, and aren't ever perfect. This one, though does very well and so get a top rating. Read and enjoy.

I borrowed this from the library specifically for Asil's story by Patricia Briggs. It was terrific! The rest of the stories were fine. And as with most anthologies, uneven.

Supremely depressing collection of stories. If this is about hope then I have a different definition.
Patricia Briggs story was the only story I truly enjoyed.
Audiobook (Cloudlibrary) version is poorly done - this is a collection of short stories with different authors and they did not identify the chapters other than numbers. no info about authors or story names or where they could be found.
