“Hello Wildfire”

Karys and Dravyn are back!! Moth! Valas! The gang is back and everything I wanted. Almost cried when I got the arc. Perfect book. Medium paced, but felt faster paced than the first. Action, fantasy that isn’t complex, just the right about of spice, romance, friendship, family. And kickass side characters that are hilarious.

Two books, completed series that feels fully fleshed out and complete. S.M. Gaither is a phenomenal writer and I’m dying for this series to take off in popularity. One of my top recommendations!

STOP reading here if you don’t want to see any quotes. I’ve kept this review spoiler free, but still stop here if you don’t want to know anything at all.

The love in this relationship gives me so many butterflies. I love them. S.M has a way with words and making me feeling happy.

“She was fire and fierceness, my brightness and breath. She was the most beautiful thing I’d ever seen.”

The touch her and die vibes were immaculate. 🙏🏻
“You are praying to the wrong fucking god for mercy.”
“I was simply making good on the promise I made the first time we spoke - to remove your hand if you touched her again. And you have. Several time now.”

The spice was spicing. Total perfection. Butterflies, jaw dropping. Ahhh
“Give me a few minutes to worship you while you’re in that position and I think you’ll change your mind.”

I wish there was a little more to the ending. I don’t feel fully satisfied not knowing where she’s living and what’s next with her and dravyn

“There is no limit to what I would give you. What I would burn down to get to you. What I would build with you, forge for you. Wherever you go, whatever you become, I love you. And I will find my way back to you, no matter the chaos between us, and whatever the battles we face in the coming days.”

Thank you to the author for the eARC.

GREAT CONCLUSION.

I really liked this sequel y’all. It felt like an epic journey through so many different areas. I love how complex this world is. With the layers of gods, mortals, elves, creatures, etc. It has intense world building that I think is easy to follow and makes for a system that I am continually intrigued by.

I loved that this was dual POV. Getting both Karys and Dravyn’s view points was the extra little something I have been craving. I loved seeing deeper into their thoughts and insights and how they care for each other too. I adore the side characters and what they bring to the plot too.

The deep support systems make this entire cast characters to love. I liked the political maneuvering and I felt like I was watching my back at each moment wondering who was going to make it out of the final battle. I loved that there were moments of reconnection and communication between certain parties and the emotional journey that this took me on.

S.M. Gaither continues to be one of my favorite romantasy authors!

Overall audience notes:
- Fantasy Romance
- Language: moderate
- Romance: 3 open door scenes
- Violence: high

What a perfect second book in this amazing duology! I am utterly in love with the journey Karys goes on. Her emotional growth is incredible, and takes place in a rich world of interesting and loveable characters. I also love her neurodivergence, that's handled beautifully!!

I have it 4.75 out of 5 simply because I would have liked a bit more description around characters feelings, but otherwise, an amazing book!!

•My Thoughts•
A completely EPIC journey beautifully packaged in a duology. I loved this! All the things you want in a fantasy; world building, magic, battles and evil (I hate this person with the passion of a thousand suns). The romance was layered with emotion, passion, tension and swoon. Our MCs, despite their powerful magic and godhood, were so multifaceted as they navigated betrayal, anxiety, and the effects of past. The nod to dealing with OCD tendencies was well done and actually fascinating as well as heartbreaking when it became paralyzing. I loved Dravyn and Karys’s communication and their support of each other and the found family aspect was lovely. All in all an absolutely fantastic read and one I recommend!!

Thank you to S.M. Gaither for the advanced reader copy! All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Look - I am just going to level with you. If the FMC has dark hair and can burn the world down, I will love her. It’s just facts. I don’t make the rules.

Dravyn is beautiful and single handedly redeeming blonde men. He would burn the world for her, I would burn the world for him, we are all burning together *screams that Chris Grey song at the top of my lungs.

Moth is a sweet baby angel. Zell is just that Ponyta and I am okay with that.

This book picks up right where we left off but I can honestly say I did not see the story arc coming. It was actually refreshing to be surprised by a book for once.

There were some parts of this book where I wanted things to speed up and then other moments where I wanted to dwell more. This author has a way of create such deep lore that it is so easy to get swept up in the world.

The love story was giving “to be loved to be known” and that is one of my favourite things to read at the moment.

All in all - 4 stars bb.

Thank you for the ARC!

This book was everything that I wanted in a follow up to the phenomenal book, Flame And Sparrow. The sheer amount of storylines and conflict that Gaither set up and ultimately resolved was truly impressive. The characters themselves also continue to be a strong selling point for Gaither’s writing. The found family amongst Dravyn, Valas, Mairu, and Karys was truly something special. They had an innate ability to understand what someone in their group needed. Also, I can’t forget about Moth – he continues to be an absolute delight, and I would love to take him home and snuggle him. I really appreciated that Gaither continued to grow the relationship between Dravyn and Karys. While they clearly care for one another, they continued to experience challenges while learning to trust and share their struggles. I also love that we got to see more of Gaither’s world building skills. The writing is so vivid you can clearly picture the scenes the characters are experiencing. I also felt that the plot was well paced and well balanced between more of internal/emotional struggles vs the action-packed battles. There were also plenty of heart wrenching betrayals and plot twists to keep you guessing. I was fascinated by how the final battle played out and where all of the characters ended up following their journey. Overall, I loved this book and duology as whole. I can’t recommend Gaither’s writing enough.
