A cute little story about a donkey learning to try other kinds of foods. It’s sweet, funny, and the artwork really pulls the whole thing together.

Donkeys and eating?!? Cute story!

I received a copy of Little Green Donkey by Anuska Allepuz from Candlewick Press in exchange for an honest review.

Little Donkey's favourite food is grass and that is all he will eat despite his mom telling him to try and eat other food. Before he realizes it, Little Donkey realizes that he has turned green from all the grass that he's eaten. It's definitely time to try something else but as Little Donkey tries and rejects different foods, he finds a new favourite food - carrots. Once again, in eating only one food, Little Donkey finds himself turning a new colour - orange!

This is such a funny picture book to read and enjoy. Readers will definitely delight in Little Donkey's misadventures through finding and only eating one's favourite foods.

Simplistic, but effective story about what could happen if you eat only one kind of food...

I want a little green donkey

Oh my goodness- the front and back covers are just too adorable. The story and illustrations inside the books definitely lived up to the hype! I personally prefer green fruits and vegetables but I do occasionally add varieties from other colors of the rainbow.
When I focus on one food or snack for too long I tend to get sick of the product. Mama donkey does a good job of letting the little donkey to add other foods.
