Finally...? Well, I was pleased after so many novellas to have some actual forward motion on this story. Was it worth the wait? Yeah because Chris and Sara are hast and steamy. Sara seems to have grown up and is a bit more tolerable in this book. Chris seems to be putting his past behind him as best he can and their love is strong as ever. Whew!

Now that we have those to high drama magnets sorted...what's up with the murder, missing people and intrigue?? Plenty of that this go around. There is enough actually paced quite well that this book keeps you interested and I never once truly figured out the ending.

I'm glad at least one phase of this infinite series seems to have closure. The rest are the branches and different characters, namely Mark, are still to come though.

What a ride! This book picks up right where Revealing Us and His Secrets left off. Once again, we are caught up in the mystery of what really happened to Rebecca and again left with more questions than answers!

No In Between continues Chris and Sara's story. They once again must face the demons from their pasts and show their faith in one another. Although there weren't a lot of questions answered this time around, we did get to see how Chris and Sara's relationship has grown and strengthened. All I want is for them to finally get the happy ending that they deserve.

No In Between was very well written. I was once again caught up in the story and the characters. There was plenty of good romance, suspense, twists and of course, a cliffhanger ending!! I can't wait to see what happens next and I hope, I hope that everything will finally be revealed in the next book!!

The Inside Out series has quickly become one of my favorites over the last four books. Whenever a new one comes out I glom onto it was ferocious tenacity until I’m on the last page. Then I mourn for at least a week, pining over the wait for the next book. What started out as a mystery of sorts has evolved into a dark , sinfully pleasurable read where you never know what’s going to happen next or how everything is connected. The intricate tale Jones has wove just seems to get more complicated as this series progresses. I was shocked that there was a confession so soon in one of the previous books regarding Rebecca’s disappearance but after reading No In Between I can see what Jones was going for and how everything is slowly coming together.

Chris and Sara are a wonderful couple together even if they are constantly telling each other they need to communicate better and then one of them hides or doesn’t disclose something. So you’re telling each other to communicate better then not communicating. Makes perfect sense. Those parts annoy me, however when they are “on” it’s sheer perfection. The sex is erotic and at times highly intense to the point if giving me shivers…which is almost always a good thing. Jones paints the picture so perfectly I can see each scene play out in my head with vivid clarity.

I will say that No In Between is definitely drier than the other books. This may have had to do with the fact that everything seemed to be at a stand still and there was a lot of information to get across to the readers. I found this one to be drastically less dramatic and at times I’ll admit I got bored. Honestly, I think it has to do more with the fact that I am overly eager to get to the book with Mark’s POV, because, damn…I LOVE HIM. Luckily there is a novella in between the full length books to tide me over. Bonus that it is in Mark’s POV! No In Between does end with a slight cliffhanger but it’s nothing that I found earth shattering or overly shocking. There are some revelations sprinkled throughout the book so all in all it does further the plot. It just seemed like it took longer to get there than previous installments.

This is definitely a series to be read in order. Don’t even think about trying to read them on their own. You’ll certainly be lost if you do.

I give No In Between by Lisa Renee Jones 3 stars

5 Stars in the erotic suspense and romance genre. I highly recommend this to readers of the Inside Out series.

This is an all too quick read. Why? The story flows so well and you will find yourself unable to walk away for any long breaks. Therefore, I caution you to plan a day to immerse yourself in the story. I think it is a good plan to read His Secrets and My Hunger beforehand, just to have more context to what’s going all in the minds of our 3 main characters, Chris, Sara and Mark.

This installment in the Inside Out Series contains more twist and turns, more accusations from resurfacing characters, and much more drama. And did I say twists? You will find yourself starting to doubt what you think you know about the storyline and where it’s going, and that I will attribute to Lisa’s wonderful writing. The story is set in a period of about 1 week, and told from Sara’s POV. It also includes a few snippets from Rebecca’s journals adding to the intensity of why we are reading the story in the first place.

Confronted with the possibility of bad press and police interviews, Chris and Sara return to San Francisco from a week in Paris. In addition, they face that little issue of the possibility of Ava’s bond release from jail. These circumstances only increase their dependency on each other and we really see their bond grow. Something deep-seated changes between them. Chris is gaining more ground with Sara and both are learning that building trust in each other, the giving over to each other trust, is the road to their happiness. Most of what we see of Chris is his jumping in to do damage control and performing as Sara’s well-loved protector. Sara does not always make that easy and when old demons resurface and Sara battles a sort of PTSD, we do see a new side to Sara. As a character, she becomes even more likable. Her compassion for Rebecca and Ella remain at the center as she continues to battle for the truth. For attention to the issue of two missing women.

We do not see a lot of Mark in the book but Mark does not have to be in every scene to have profound impact. The futures of many of the characters ride on Mark’s decisions and he is definitely not in the right place to make any decisions. New characters are brought in, old ones come back to wreak havoc on his life. This extreme pressure begins to cause Mark to disengage from his world of art and his lifestyle is at great risk. When Mark lets loose on some truths causing further issues for Sara and Chris, he becomes a little less likable. Sometimes it is just hard to root for him, but we watch as Mark’s self-loathing becomes deep-seated anger and we are reminded that his grief over Rebecca is genuine.

The plot, the dialogue, and the sensual writing are all amazingly demonstrated making this a definite 5 star read. This is series and it would not be right if we were left without a cliffhanger. This is not a standalone, you must read the series, but I can guarantee you will not be sorry you did.

Maybe because I read all these books immediately after one another, but I feel like this first two books were strong & captivating & the last two lost that luster. The trust issues between Chris & Sara are constantly coming forward, even after we are lead to believe we are finally past that. There are times I had to re-read sections because there were so many players & it got confusing. I like the world created here, but I think the author drug the story out far longer than necessary.

Just when I thought this series couldn't take any more turns... Boom. I am brought right back into questions unanswered, that I thought had been answered. Things I thought were true, aren't true.

I am going to be honest. I was getting a little bored with this series. It was starting to feel like it was being drug out for too long. Then I started this book. Now, I am eagerly awaiting the rest of the series. This kicked things right back into gear for me. I was as enthralled with this book as I was with the very first one. It was like reading the beginning of a story that may never end!

Chris and Sarah's relationship is always being tested. Yet, in the end, no matter what happens, they always seem to keep the faith and make it through. I love that this series isn't only a love story, but a mystery you can't seem to get a handle on. Every time you think you have things figured out, you are proven wrong!

 Quickie Review:

So I did want to make this review a bit shorter, so I don't reveal too much in this one as I do think more mystery is better around these books than not. So we pick up where we left off from the end of book three, where they are leaving France and having to come back to the states as the legal case involving murder of Rebecca and the attack on Sara to be resolved. There are many puzzles missing in this mystery, and with how they are being questioned by law enforcement, both Sara and Chris are really struggling. And there is a battle happening with Mark and his own journey. We will see a glimpse into Mark's torment and even though eventually I do want to read his book, I am not exactly wanting to rush into it either. This story was quite fascinating because we are seeing how Chris and Sara are best tested in ways that neither of them expected to be and we also see how they both experience unique challenges but are learning to lean on each other instead of other ways that aren't as healthy to their relationship.

I am not sure what it is about this author, but most of what I read from her is so all consuming and it definitely is the case with this series. I am so in love with Chris and Sara and seeing their story slowly come to a end was a bit sad but also ready to read more of the connecting books to theirs. I was impressed with the finale in their journey, at least a full length novel of their finale (there is still a novella to read to finish them off completely)

If you love romantic suspense but like something with a bit more sensual feeling to the story, then you definitely need to try out this series, you can't go wrong with them.

Review originally posted at Ramblings From This Chick

I really loved this series when it first started. I thought that it was so new and different, and I loved how refreshing that was. As the series has continued though, I have felt as though things have gone downhill. While I still love the characters, I feel as though the story has begun to drag and it feels as though things are purposely being drawn out at times. This book needs to be read after the previous books and is not a standalone. I would highly recommend that if you are going to read this series that you read them in order and close together. I found myself getting confused and forgetting past events because of the time in between each book. I am not sure where this series is headed, but I will say that I am starting to lose interest because of the way that it has been stretched out so much.

After everything that happened in Paris, Chris and Sarah have finally returned home to San Francisco. With the investigation in full swing, everywhere they turn Sarah and Chris are in the middle of lawyer, detectives, and their own security team who are determined to get to the bottom of what happened once and for all. With Ava retracting her confession, the police turn their investigation to Sarah, Chris and Mark and begin to wonder if Ava is protecting someone or is lying. At the heart of the investigation is still the question about what happened to Rebecca and if they will ever find out the truth and where her body might be. Sarah and Chris have begun to bare their souls to one another and are more committed than ever, but with everything going on and the past being brought to the surface things start to unravel. Can Sarah give her trust to Chris after everything or will their relationship crumble under the weight of everything that still stands between them?

I really thought that at this point that Sarah and Chris's relationship would be rock solid, and at times it does seem like it is. But then there are times that it seems as though they will never be able to find stability and a future together. After everything that Chris had revealed to Sarah about his past, it was Sarah that hadn't been entirely truthful with Chris. She still had so much going on with her panic attacks and her past that she had yet to fill him in on. It also seemed as though she was still having trust issues when it came to opening up to him and that bothered me. Chris had been so patient and kind with her and she continued to run rather than immediately go to him. I understand that she was trying to protect him and their relationship because she thought that things would be hard for him to deal with, but as a couple they should have been able to deal with things together. I did enjoy them starting to move forward towards a future together though, and their undeniable chemistry was still clear. These two belong together and I just hope that they are able to make it through everything together and get their HEA at the end of everything.

I will admit that this felt really long to me, and I honestly felt like this book could have done the exact same thing but been novella length. The story was slow at times and hard to stay interested in. I kept waiting for more to happen, but really it was not much progress at the end of it. Sarah and Chris still have much to get through, and I honestly am not sure where they stand at the end of this story. I am not sure what is going on with the connection to the roses and why all of a sudden they are making such an appearance with Chris and his feelings towards Sarah. It seems a bit suspicious considering the connection that roses have to Rebecca, and I have to wonder if there is more going on between Chris and Rebecca in the past than what he has said or we have been lead to believe. I am still not convinced that Rebecca is really dead, which would mean even more if there is still more about Chris and her that we don't know. I will say that I am curious to where things will end with this series, and I am commited to seeing it played out. But honestly I am continuing to get frustrated with this series, and would like to see the end in sight. I don't want this series to be completely killed by the end and it left feeling as though the author is beating a dead horse. I understand giving a story its proper ending, but there is such a thing as overdoing it to keep it going. I will be interested to see how the next book plays out and if we are finally given more answers than questions and confusion.

I'm going to try and keep this review as spoiler free as possible, however, as the fourth book in a true series (read: books should be read in order to have a full understanding of characters and plot points), there may be some minor spoilers in the following paragraphs.

No In Between starts off with Chris and Sara returning from Paris, after overcoming quite a lot while they were abroad. The two have conquered many obstacles to get to where they are now and it looks as if they could possibly get a happy ending. But if you've read Lisa Renee Jones, it's not going to be easy for the two. As with the prior books in the Inside Out series, No In Between is intense, suspenseful, and erotic. There's a little bit of everything for all readers - romance, revenge, and betrayal. There's plot twists that leave a reader wondering if certain questions will be answered and guessing what will happen next. While it's a bit of a roller coaster, I loved this about No In Between. When I'm reading a suspenseful novel, there's nothing worse then guessing the ending before I get to it. There's no chance of that when reading and Inside Out novel! I'm already eagerly anticipating the next book in this series.

No In Between also delves into the character of Mark, missing Rebecca's (former?) boss at the art gallery, and a definite person of interest in her disappearance. Mark becomes more of a central character in the fourth book and I loved the relationship between the three that is shown in No In Between. Since the beginning of the series, I was interested in learning more about Mark's character - what made him into the man he is - and I'm excited that Lisa Renee Jones gives readers more background on him in this novel.

I enjoyed reading No In Between, even with the huge cliffhanger at the end. Usually this will put me off a series, but I am so invested in Lisa Renee's characters that it just made me more excited to read the next book, I Belong To You. I'll be looking forward to it hitting the shelves in November!
