My new favourite author and this is my favourite book I have read this year. Absolutely beautiful

I won this book through a giveaway. I am very confused about what happened at the end of the book, and overall it was not very engaging or entertaining.

If this book is shit, then it's clearly my shit.
I love how the book reads like it's floating. Like we never genuinely know truths from lies, or honesty from deceit. Sabina as a narrator is highly unreliable (not to mention she's a pathological thief, I think) and deeply in denial, so it's really hard to separate what was actually happen and what was a jumble of blurry assumptions.
To be honest with you all here, even when I finished the book, I won't even be sure about half of the things I read.
The weird thing is: I don't mind.
Catherine House is weird and unexplainable. I am not sure (and if my memory is correct, it's never explained too, at least not explicitly) what makes all those girls able to find the house and what leads them to it. The location of the house is also questionable since it's never clear whether the house does exist in our reality or not.
But the narrative is beautiful as well as high like heads in the clouds.
Very atmospheric, and despite too many questions left unanswered, too many events left unexplained, and too many attempts at explanation remain unclear, I just cannot bring myself to hate this book.
Because the fact is that I enjoyed my journey reading it all.
Bonus point: all the important characters are women.
Yay.

When people say Nova Ren Suma's writing is phenomenal, they are not exaggerating. A ROOM AWAY FROM THE WOLVES was beautiful, mysterious, and chilling, and the feel of the story reminded me of "I Am The Pretty Thing That Lives In The House". The characters were intriguing and the plot kept me wanting more. There's so much packed into this relatively short book that it will definitely need a re-read to be sure I caught everything hidden. I guess my only complaint would be the long chapters, but I just prefer shorter chapters which make it easier to read a book in spurts.

This book was dumb. The whole time it just went in circles. I did not find anything magical about the magical realism. I don't understand why her big love thing is Monet. What did Monet do to her? Did they have romance? No. Like yeah she's dead whoopee. That part was the only predictable part. Everything else made zero sense, and not in a cute "it's too mature and complex for me" way, but in a "just throwing anything at a canvas and hoping it sticks" kind of way.

I really like this author but this book wasn't as enjoyable to me as her others.

A Room Away Wolves is an overall enjoyable read that oozes a creepy foreboding atmosphere but doesn't try to reinvent the wheel of Young Adult supernatural fiction.

Good, but weird. So strange. I probably need to reread it to really understand it.
