This ties with Tiger Magic as my favorite book in the series so far. I have loved the character of Graham since he was introduced. He is loud, aggressive, and bossy but underneath that is a warm, kind, caring man. He is funny to how gruff he is to people. I love how he interacts with the cubs Matt and Kyle. His relationship with Dougal shows his softer side. Misty is the perfect match for Graham. She doesn’t take his bossiness. She talks constantly and Graham is more a man of action. I also liked the expanded storyline with the Fae. It will affect all the storylines in the future. The story was three dimensional, full of passion and lots of action. Loved, loved, loved the book!!!!!

3.75 Stars!Well, things seem to be changing around here...the reveals on the Collars and the swords from both Lorcan and Oison don't really sound all that good but at the same time, I wonder how that's going to play out.
Overall, I really liked Misty. Back when she was first introduced, her character was intriguing because it seemed like she was truly curious about Graham and it wasn't just because he was a shifter. Even though things didn't go exactly as she'd probably hoped, the fact that she called Graham at the beginning was actually pretty smart. I did like the way she did her best to help throughout the book, even if she didn't necessarily understand everything. I also liked the way she continually called Graham on some of his crap, especially with as snarky as she'd get about it. And I liked how she handled things at the end. I did get a little frustrated with her comment about being done after they initially escaped the desert. Understanding that Graham realized something wasn't right, he still didn't have any right to blame her completely, since she wouldn't have had any way of knowing it was a Fae problem. But I still kind of felt like she jumped ahead instead of actually talking to him (granted, that thing had me more frustrated with Graham than Misty but she still was a little frustrating).
Really kind of lowkey loved Graham. In the previous books, even though he was acting like a giant pain in the ass, there was also something slightly deeper. I did like getting to kind of see the other side of him and get into her true fears. I loved the way he was with the twins and with Dougal. Even though they drove him crazy, he still cared for them and looked out for them. Loved the way he'd realized how Dougal was and was always doing what he could to nudge him in the direction that he needed. Like I mentioned, I did get frustrated with him at the beginning when he realized what had happened in the desert. Granted, it was probably scary to be under a Fae spell and also not really knowing what said spell was going to do, but again, Misty would have had no way of knowing it was a Fae issue so the fact that he told her she'd fucked him over without explaining anything annoyed me. Not saying he couldn't have gotten mad but that whole situation could have been handled a little better. I did laugh when he tried to stay away because that didn't work out all that well and hopefully he fixes her door sometime soon.
The reveal about the twins has me wondering if there's going to be more Guards popping up in the future. And Ben is definitely an interesting enigma.

The story of Graham McNeil, grouchy wolf alpha and co-leader of the Las Vegas Shiftertown, and Misty, his human girlfriend.
Misty is in trouble with some bad guys that are looking for her brother, and Graham gets involved to saves her, starting to realize that she means more to him than he pretends she does, since his pack needs him to mate with a strong wolf shifter.
Unfortunately for both of them, the bad guys were involved with a fae who lured them where he could spell them and now they are both fighting the effects of the spell and are trying to find a way to break it. Friends and allies come to their aid, especially when it becomes clear that the fae have a terrifying plan that affects all shifters.

An enjoyable part of that story is the fact that in the end the badass alpha wolf is.
Engaging story that also advances the main storyline of the series, which continues with a novella next, [b:Bear Attraction|18759787|Bear Attraction (Shifters Unbound, #6.5)|Jennifer Ashley|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1413615253s/18759787.jpg|26655511].

I still love this series, but to me this one seemed like a mid-arc move-the-plot-along book.

3.5 stars. I love Ashley's historicals but it took me a little while to warm up to this PNR series. I really enjoyed the last couple of books but I have to admit that I wasn't looking forward to Graham's story. I think I'm alone in that, but that's OK with me.
So, I was kind of right to feel that way. I never really warmed up to Graham. He's a bit too much of an old fashioned alpha for me. He's definitely tempered a bit, here in his own book. But it's still there. But I did think he & Misty were a good couple. And the interactions with the cubs are adorable. What I enjoyed more than the romance is the is the interesting world that Ashley has built. The shifters are still discriminated against and they continue to work around that. This book gets more into the fae and introducing some other races stranded in the human realm. So, while this is never going to be my favorite couple I'm still looking forward to others in the series and the expansion of this world.
