The thing about reading a book that’s been on hold at the library for a long time is that you forget what drew you to the book in the first place. When I started it, I was thinking why did I want to read yet another tech utopia/STEMinist book.
BUT. This isn’t that at all. This is sort of the opposite of it. I liked that it explored what it might be like to be a woman in these sorts of spaces. There was a part in the middle where it reminded me of Uncanny Valley. And yet, because it’s a comedy of sorts, everything had to be tied together with a bow at the end.

good blend of fashion, marketing, and tech as a fashion journalist career switching to VP of Marketing at a tech start up. i really enjoyed the aspects of her learning and navigating a new industry and career. did feel a little too much like real life but i still had fun reading

A cute, light-hearted read that is not quite a romance, about being honest with oneself and the trials and tribulations of early adulthood. Won't be giving it much more thought than that but I did enjoy going through it in an afternoon, sitting in the park.

This is *not* a romance. I can see where the romance *will occur* but I'm 20% in the book and the love interest has only been mentioned about 3 times (2x casually).
I work in Silicon Valley lol and this book was 90% accurate that it was frustrating beyond belief, so really I need to DNF because the writing is just triggering my frustrations about SV.
