This is a true survivalist story. Our main character not only has to survive the physical, but also the mental and emotional. Her mother is dead, her father is dead — both of them died right in front of her. She is injured and alone in the remote Canadian wilderness with no food or shelter to help her survive. Only her desire for revenge fuels her desire to stay alive. This story was compelling and realistic. My students will enjoy it.
