Actually quite enjoyable, if you can get past the highschool/teenybopper/cheerleader type writing style. I was actually surprised there wasn't more misuse of the word "like".
Whatever the case I still had a fun time reading it. Its better then the previous one for sure. Still the ultimate in fluff.

The Darkest Kiss was yummy!!!! Anya is definitely my kind of girl!!!! She is awesome and Lucien is perfect for her. They make one hell of a team. I spent the entire book either laughing or fanning myself. I am definitely loving the Lords and having a blast reading about them!!!!!

Put a fork in me, I'm done. I wasn't crazy about the first book but I thought I'd give Gena Showalter another try. Her plots are good and creative but her writing style is booooooorrrrring. She has a tendency to drag everything out. I really tried to like this series but I couldn't get into it.

Only an okay book - the characters were too immature for most of the book to be believable as immortal beings, and the first 2/3 of the book felt like it dragged on for way too long. Strangely enough, the characters and set up reminded me of a previous VF read, Pleasure Unbound, with the presence of demons and a crusading group of humans campaigning against them. I was able to enjoy the Ione books as a fun and sexy read and look past some of the silly plot points, but wasn't able to do so with this book.

Lucien and Anya are an awesome pair. Love their stubbornness and love.
