Gah, I loved this. Anya made me giggle throughout the book - I realize to some she might be annoying but I enjoyed how crazy she was but she could pull it together when she needed to. She was a good match for Lucien who was so serious. Their connection was smoking hot!

Also, the cover is so hot, unfortunately missing Lucien's scars, but still!

My favorite heroine, Anya! She has a different voice than the other characters, and I love that. I didn't think I would like her as much as I did.

Lucien was a bit of a bore, but whatever... Anya carried that book.

I enjoyed Anya and Lucian’s book. The first book in this series didn’t grab me, but I’m glad I continued anyway. I’ve been looking for a fun paranormal series since I finished Immortals After Dark and I think I found one!

Anya is a happy sunshine, Lucian is a big grump. Add in a sex deal and I’m here for it. It had an HEA for Anya and Lucian and cliff hanger teasers for Paris and Reyes’ books.

I do think you probably need the world building from book 1 to really get this book, I wouldn’t recommend it as a stand alone.

I listened to the audio and the narrator was great. It was easy to speed up a bit too, if that’s your thing. I got up to 1.2x without it being weird.

Most of the time, the first one is the best in terms of story because you learn about everyone and what the main story is. With immortals after dark, the story changes depending on the couple, and the main storyline kind of happens in the background, weaving each story into each timeline. With the black dagger brotherhood, the story does progress but focuses on the mate more than anything.

I feel with these, so far anyway, that it focuses on the main story. I mean, there was romance and stuff, but there's no 'penetration' as until the near end of the book. Not that they didn't do other stuff. But even that was past the middle. No, it's mainly spent getting to know the other, while going about their quest for Pandora's box.

As Anya is a goddess, or daughter of a goddess, this touches lightly on mythology, and Anya uses her information gathered from being a child growing up in that in that environment, to help find these four objects that help locate Pandora's box, which were hidden by Zeus. Dun dun dunnnnn!

Anya has a crush on 'Lucy' or 'Flowers' as she likes to call Lucian or 'death' as his demon is named, and this book starts with her trying her hardest - and succeeding- in getting a kiss off of him. And let me tell you, do I want a fucking kiss like THAT! Woo! Bring me the ice bath!

While Lucian is all scarred and stuff - we find out he did this to himself- and women tend to run from him in horror - his intention of scarring himself- Anya is enthralled by him, and they play a lot of cat and mouse not telling the other they like one another and abusing each other with nasty one liners and lies to hide their affection.

Lucian is particularly hateful as he is just as obsessed, but learns her mother is a goddess who beds everyone, and jumps to the conclusion Anya has also. Long story short, she was cursed as a kid, she's a virgin and Lucian makes himself look like an ass.

In this they look for a cage hidden by Hydra that makes the person in it unable to free themselves, and compels them to do whatever the owner asks.

P.S Cronus is a big fat douce-lord. Douche-lord of all of douche-town. If I was these guys, I'd bitch slap him back to prison. Gods or not. He's a huge twat. More annoying than a fucking blowfly. (Which is fitting because he watches them all invisible all the time, god knows when! Perv.)

I really want to love this book, the concept is so wonderful. However, after all the arguing and busy work, I stopped enjoy it so much....

Second book in the series is definitely an improvement. There's more to the story than just two people falling in love. We start to see more of the greater world and what the lords are up against. There's a greater force out there in the titans trying to upset the world order. It's putting each of the lords into way more complicated positions and desperate to find the artifacts they need to find Pandora's box.

I loved Anya! Ok, she's fiesty, she's a god, and she isn't going to take any shit from anyone. She's stayed one step ahead of everyone out to get her and she kicks butt. Love it! I enjoyed her willingness to stand toe to toe with Lucien. She was going to take him out if he wasn't going to back down. Lucien doesn't know how to handle the badass chick that is Anya.

I enjoyed the two of them figuring out how to be together when all the outside forces are putting them at odds with each other. There's a lot more to the mythology in this story and hints at where some of the other lords' stories are going to go.

This was good, I love Lucien BUUUT I thought the first one was better constructed! Some passages in this book are way too forced for me.

I love Anya and Lucien. Their story is amazing. Anya is this fiery Goddess who has caught the attention of Lucien the leader of the Lords of the Underworld. Lucien has been thinking about Anya since the moment she came into his life. He had not seen her only heard her voice as she set Maddox and Ashlyn free in the first book. He remembers her by her smell. Strawberries. She shows herself to him in this book and Lucien was immediately captivated. The relationship between Anya and Lucien is an amazing one! The push and pull between the two of them is great. Anya can never truly be with a lover and Lucien believes he is undeserving. This unlikely pair go through extreme trials to be together even though the odds are stacked against them.
If anyone loves Gena Showalter I would highly recommend you pick up her Lords of the Underworld series. If you haven't already done so you need to run.. go now. and grab her Lords! They are sexy and yummy and definitely good to have on a cold winter's night!
