Wife falls off cliff and everyone thinks husband killed her. He was married before and his first wife also died. Turns out his first wife caught him cheating on her. The other woman get shot and they burn the house down and say that it was the wife who died. But the wife never died. She changed her identity, married her husband again and then faked her own death again when she “ fell off” the cliff.

Very entertaining, good page turner. Reminiscent of Gone Girl, plots within plots.

I kind of already knew where this one was going. It was okay. There were lines that were cringe worthy in the way it tried to help feminism along, but the detectives felt like a distraction. Their POV seemed a little unnecessary.

I was really excited about this one, but unfortunately it just didn’t work for me. It started off interestingly enough, but I hated absolutely every character, and really struggled with the plausibility of everything. I did see some of the twists coming, but some of them just seemed too outlandish and I struggled to suspend disbelief with this one.

Sort of entertaining, but the twists and turns are excessive.

I think it could have been edited down to a tighter, more compelling read.

What a crazy ride - totally unexpected twists and turns. I enjoyed this much more than I thought I would - it is a great domestic thriller. It will keep you guessing the entire time and you won't want to put it down. The only thing I found unnecessary was the subplot with Detective Loren - it really didn't add anything to the story. I would have preferred more information on the Evans' family dynamic - it was odd that their daughters seemed so disinterested in their mother's disappearance. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys a good thriller that will surprise you. I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley.

When Matt's wife falls off a cliff during a hike, at first the police suspect nothing more than an accidental fall. When strange evidence comes to light, including a look at Matt's past, the police are sent in a different direction. Just when you think you have everything figured out, JoAnn Chaney will surprise you. As Long as We Both Shall Live is a highly entertaining, twisted thriller that you won't want to miss.

I was so excited for JoAnn Chaney's latest mystery and it was as engrossing as 'What You Don't Know'--(and Detective Loren's back in this one, too). Without giving away too much of the plot, longtime married couple Matt and Marie's wilderness getaway to rekindle their marriage takes a shocking turn when Marie appears to have fallen to her death. While investigating her disappearance, Detective Loren and his partner discover Matt's previous wife also died with suspicious circumstances. We have alternating timelines, witty chapter titles, and a flashback to some of Loren's own history.

I was happy to spend my holiday weekend reading this book.

Loved this book! I don't want to give anything away, but this is a book about a husband and wife who truly deserve each other.

The audiobook was insufferableeee. I got partway through and might try again but it just didn't click.
