As usual, Hanh’s book is a delight to read. Slowly reading it feels like a meditation in itself and even though the ideas feel similar to previous books, it always helps to read them again with a more focused application (fighting and conflict in this case).

2.5 stars.
How to Fight by Thich Nhat Hanh is a lovely but very idealistic and limited book on interpersonal conflict. It has excellent perspectives and strategies for close relationships in which both parties want to treat one another with respect and love but it doesn't really seem to examine diplomacy or resolution in a wider sense. Its strategies depend very much on the good nature of others, but one of its positive characteristics is that it does supply good strategies for intimate and largely healthy or positive relationships.

All of the books in Mindfulness essentials is great, but this book is the best. Was able to relate a lot.

I have always been interested in Zen philosophy and mindfulness, so I picked up this small book to learn more about how to peacefully resolve conflicts in my life. I found the beginning and middle to be a bit repetitive and abstract, but I appreciated the practical and applicable strategies in the last section “Practices for Peace and Reconciliation.”
