Little Girl Lost, is the first book in the DI Robyn Carter series. As the novel opens up, Robyn is just returning back to the police force. I really liked Robyn and all the other characters in this book. The reason I only gave it a three was that the alternating chapters was not my favourite for this storyline, and it could be confusing at times. I am going to stick with it for book two.

***I received an eARC from NETGALLEY***

So hard to follow in the beginning. Once I got Over the half way mark i could t put it down... Very twisted

Loved it! Great plot, and we'll developed characters.

[[ THIS BOOK SHOULD COME WITH A WARNING!!! The Prologue is VERY graphic, If you have EVER been sexually abused as a child or raped (or even have a young daughter) BE WARNED this first part of the book WILL most likely get to you!! ]]

I have received this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review!

After i read the Prologue to this book i had to put it down and i couldn't bring myself to read it until the next day, I understand the shock factor and why it was in the book, people would be really confused about the rest of the book if that was not put in the book somewhere, however that didn't make it any easier to read, imagine or remember.
I'm not sure if it was because i was still thinking about the first incident or just something about the book but this was a slower book for me. It did not grab me and make me read it like my usual books, i just causally got through it when i had time rather than actually wanting to pick it up and read it.
WITH THAT SAID: That does NOT mean it was a bad book, it turned out pretty decent. Has a couple turns and twists in it, thought i had some of it figured out then i was like no that can't be right then when i did find out what was going on, who was who, i was pretty surprised. It picked up about halfway through and it was easier to finish but something about the front of this book just dragged on (again could have definitely been me).

I like Robyn Carter & Ross, i had a little bit of trouble with Abigail just because she should have reacted more to the notes, emails, calls, and her suspicions, I think that would have made the book more realistic and probably a better read. She had everything right in front of her but yet she kept acting like nothing was ever going to come out of it, who the hell doesn't confront their husband when they think he is cheating on her!?! I liked Jackson's character even though he didn't really have a huge part in the book! I like that as soon as he figured out what the hell was going on he took action talked to Robyn right away, unlike his wife. It was an interesting part of the story when the sister tells Alice Paul did what he did to protect her, for some reason that never popped in my mind i really thought he was as evil as his son. Interesting to me, that one little line can make you look at a person in a whole new light.

Overall i liked this book I really wish i read it faster made me feel like i was slacking, which i don't like to do. My usual turn around on a book is about 6-8 hours of steady reading, Where as it probably took at least a full 20-24 hours to read this one.

the story jumps around too much between timeliness and I didn't really like anyone so I just dnf it

Unputdownable page-turner that had me hooked from the very first page. I almost gave myself a headache trying to work things out, got somewhat confused in a really good way (hello red herrings) but it all made sense in the end. Can't wait to see more of Robyn.

what a fantastic story... This has been on my to be read pile for a while... so glad i picked it up. keeps you on your toes!

“It's a gift of the truth. Lies harm. Lies hurt. The truth liberates. You should try it sometime. In fact, you should try it now before it's too late.”

I always have a weak spot for a good psychological thriller, so even though I shouldn't have, I requested a copy of Little Girl Lost anyway after hearing a lot of great things about it. This book by Carol Wyer is the first book of a new detective series and I'm glad I listened to the positive reviews. It's without doubt a worthy psychological thriller! The writing style is really enjoyable to read and there were lots and lots of plot twists to enjoy. The new main character of this series surely stumbles across some very disturbed and twisted characters during her first appearance! Robyn Carter is your typical DI main character with cliche messed up past and impressive detective skills, but I've grown to like her during the story. It wasn't love at first sight, but I will be looking forward to find out what happens to her in the future. Some of the other characters were on the border of annoying, but I guess some of them are supposed to be unlikeable/unreliable in the first place. The plot itself was a mix of messed up, intriguing, shocking with a healthy dose of paranoia. I'm sure most of the twists and revelations will surprise you, even though (part of) the ending was a little predictable. If you are looking for an entertaining, well written and twisted psychological thriller, Little Girl Lost is without doubt a great choice.

A teacher goes missing under suspicious circumstances and a millionaire is murdered during a run, but there doesn't seem to be an obvious link between the men. Detective Robyn Carter has just returned to the force and told to work on the cases. When she starts her investigation, things don't exactly add up. Her investigations lead her to Abigail, a woman with a seemingly perfect life and a beautiful little daughter Izzy. Robyn has the feeling the woman is hiding something though... What is Abigails connection to the victims? And why is someone threatening Abigail?

Little Girl Lost doesn't only belong to one of my favorite genres, it also involves a serial killer. It might sound weird, but serial killer thrillers truly fascinate me... And the killer in this one definitely is a 'beauty'. Twisted, disturbed, messed up childhood and a touch of humanity, all put together in a huge bowl of REVENGE: that is basically the description of the perp in Little Girl Lost. The true identity is hidden for a long time, although it's quite easy to guess who it is before you reach the ending. A lot of the other twists will definitely shock/surprise you and if you are looking for a gripping psychological thriller I can definitely recommend this one.

Alice is eight years old and she and her widowed mother have moved in with her mother's new boyfriend and his two children. Something unspeakable happens one night and she and her mother are no longer welcome at the house. Mary is looking for her husband who's gone missing although she thought he'd gone on holiday to Thailand. She enlists the help of DI Robyn Carter who's currently working for her private investigator cousin - she's taken a break from the police force after two traumatic losses. Paul is a former actor and dies suddenly while out jogging. Abigail is a young woman who seems to have everything - gorgeous pilot husband, beautiful baby daughter a large house and expensive cars - so who could be tormenting her and accusing both her and her husband of keeping secrets and threatening to make her pay. Can Robyn find the link between all these people and discover the awful secret that has led to years of resentment and led someone to kill. Really enjoyed this book and look forward to more in the Robyn Carter series.
