I have a confession to make. I am not capable of objectivity when it comes to these books, so please don't expect it. You might get me to admit that this wasn't the greatest of the Vorkosigan books, but I still enjoyed it so much that I can't imagine giving it anything other than 5 stars. I love the stories that Lois McMaster Bujold writes and the characters that she creates. Miles, in particular, is a character I could read about doing something completely boring and still be perfectly happy. Yes, I love his character that much.
As for this book in particular, I could probably sum it up for me in just three words: Miles, you dork!

A really satisfying re-read that I absolutely gulped down. I think this is probably the best entry point for people new to the series, even though it comes so late— Bujold has really mastered what she’s doing, and enough things have changed in the fictional universe that you don’t need all the past lore. Highly recommended.

I haven't disliked a character so much since Kyle from Liveship traders as I do Kat's husband. Per usual Bujold breaks the mold and gets me invested in an adventure espionage plot that most authors couldn't interest me in. It had me so hooked I picked up the next book 30 seconds after finishing this one.

This is a Vorkosigan mystery. A crime has been committed, but part of the mystery is that no one knows (at first) that it was even a crime. Enter Miles Vorkosigan in his new role of Imperial Auditor.
Bujold shows us life under the domes of a planet undergoing terraforming. From the point of view of the off-planet conquerors. The social dynamics would make for an interesting story even without the mystery.
Another excellent story with good pacing, interesting new characters, and two point-of-view characters with very different views of Komarr. The ending scene in the hospital would make an average book good - with an excellent book like this it just caps the story with a truly satisfying ending.

Following Memory, we really needed a light-hearted Miles book and this was so fun. It has all of the Miles shenanigans and follows Miles in his new era. I loved the second POV we get as well. Just a delight.
