I can't quite put my finger on it but... there's just something about this book that made me feel warm, fuzzy and happy. I loved it. It's cheesy, it's corny, it's silly some times and dead serious in others, it's spicy, but more than that, I felt like every spicy scene had a genuinely intimate quality to them. Franco is just;;;;; yes. Just yes. I don’t know why, don't ask me to explain it, but I just loved Franco a whole lot. I loved everything about this, and that's genuinely shocking to me because I honestly didn't expect to like this book as much as I did. I was prepared for it to be a solid 3-star read to pass the time, maybe 4. But somehow... I'm giving it a 5. I'm feeling helplessly charmed by this book and I was grinning ear to ear for the great majority of the time I was reading it. I actually cannot wait to read this again a few months from now and experience it all over again. What else can I say? It's my new "comfort book", I think

This book was great I loved how gentle Franco was with Samantha. It's so rare to have a book about a violent mafia guy but him be so gentle with the woman hes with. I was waiting for this to take on the vibe of him being agressive with her but her being fine with it because shes allowing it or whatever but no Franco was always so kind and loving. I wish Samantha would have talked more with her parents about what she went through. They were so close and I think it would have been good for her to tell them she felt so much better after she shared it with Franco I think she would have felt better sharing it with her parents as well. But I loved them together this was a good easy read for me.

My first rating was a 4 star, but I went back and re-read this again in less than a month. I think that means it deserves an upgrade.
3rd Read: This book is the diamond in the rough of this series.

I understand what this book is trying to do with regard to the building a new relationship after abuse but other parts of this story are just not all that great and so I'm sure this won't end up being highlighy rated for me so I don't really want to continue. I just don't find these mafia romances to do it for me. I need more legit high stakes bullshit not men who are like so big and bad but own a regular ass business where they're just assholes to their employees. Like I'm okay. I just don't think I'm into boss x employee romances anymore either. Also find it a little icky that he knows it's her and she doesn't and I don't think that really sets them up for success....I get why he would hide it but yeah it's my least fav.
