Craving Danger

Michelle Heard

3.73 AVERAGE

Without question a 5 star reading, i am truly not certain that Michelle Heard can write anything below a 5 star. Samantha's back story is so interesting and different than any i have heard before. She has the worst event that can happen to a woman happen to her and by someone she trusted at that. So on her way to try and rebuild she takes a rather bold and interesting step to repair her relationship with herself and with men by going to a smegs club and truly just engaging in small talk. Little did she know the man she was getting to know was her boss who she hates for being a tyrant. Franco after two weeks of having his assistant is ready to move onto the next one but the more he gets to know her through the mask they both wear the more he cant resist her. Samantha was probably the most realistic woman descripted. She reacts after a shootout, she seeks the comfort of the one she is falling for and she reacts with honesty to betrayal. Franco is just straight up obsessed with her, after laughing at his friend for falling so easily and hopelessly he knows he is now in the exact same boat.
They were such a well balanced couple. I loved this book.

Geri dönüp dönüp okuduğum "o kitap"..

Really enjoyed this MMC.

The FMC Samantha has been significantly traumatized. To the point I'm surprised she can function day to day. But she still manages to deal with Franco's ego and attitude.

Franco is a completely different person away from work and Samantha unknowingly walks into his sex club to help her get over her fear of men.
When something goes awry he steps in and becomes a steadying presence for her while wearing a ski mask...
That felt a little weird. Can't imaging staring a a tall man in a ski mask with a skull on it and thinking, he's the one, but I can ignore that fact.

In the mean time he's one of the Capos of the Cosa Nostra and that secret comes out when she gets shot at during a hit.

I liked Samantha's character and the interaction with Franco. She made him work for it when she found out he'd been hiding his identity from her. I appreciate that.
dark emotional fast-paced

I really enjoyed this one and thought it was better than the first. Renzo and Dario's teasing of Franco was hilarious. My only complaint, and maybe I wasn't focusing enough, (but I think a lot of reader's may read quickly and get confused as well) is that I thought Renzo was a nickname for Lorenzo, not that they were two separate people. I had recently read another novella where a character named Enzo was a nickname for Lorenzo, so wasn't expecting Lorenzo and Renzo to be two different characters.

This was fun ngl

So it was wayyyy better than the first one, that’s for sure. A bit precipitated in my opinion. But overall it was good.

For her, I’d wage wars. For her, I’d kneel. It feels like my soul becomes one with hers as the kiss becomes more passionate.
This is the second book in The Mafia Kings series. I enjoyed this book because it was a different take than a regular mafia book.  This book was good change of pace. It was intriguing, it was a fast read, and it was fun. The book was decently written, although there were just a few spelling errors. Some of the tropes in this book were:
Mafia
Violent
Grumpy x Sunshine
Billionaire
Alpha male
Trauma
Protective

One of the most difficult things for me in this author’s work is the timeline. These big, violent men fall in love within weeks. That’s problematic for me, especially with this particular book. The kind of trauma that Samantha experienced would not have allowed her to fall in love and have those kinds of sexual experiences within weeks. I need the author to have a bit more respect for the type of abuse she’s writing. The books are good, but it seems like the sex and love are rushed. The first half of the book was so good. Watching the relationship build from Samantha being his PA to all the violence happening was great. It was action packed, and I couldn’t put the book down.
There were still a couple of plot holes or things that didn't really make sense to me like when they have sex for the first time and Franco asks about a condom and she says she’s on the pill. This was right after the man who did horrific things to her attacks her again. I was so confused about what was happening. I thought it was a weird transition.

FMC and MMC
Franco was unhinged. Some of the things he did were vicious. I liked him a lot in this book. He was patient and thoughtful to Samantha. I liked it when he got on the floor with her to help her sort through her emotions.
Samantha was vibrant and strong. She learned how to soothe the PTSD the best way she knew how. One thing I didn’t like was the way the author just pushed therapy to the side. I think this was a mistake, especially dealing with the type of trauma that Samantha was dealing with.
I like the series so far and they are a lot of fun. Although, I’m not thrilled about the amount of physical abuse these women suffer. I do enjoy that these women are strong. That makes for a better reading experience.

Fairly spicy. I really really liked the mmc and fmc and the story line. He was obsessed from the start but let her get there on her own. I also like that she didn’t want anything sexual for a majority of the book. Only two problems I had with the book were that after she found out about him it moved very quickly and they were engaged in a month and also you can still tell what the authors views are. Some of her comments could come off homophobic.
