A fast paced, gripping thriller guaranteed to keep the pages turning. A new partnership is formed in the Philadelphia police department. Jessica Belzano is new to the homicide squad, partnered with veteran detective Kevin Byrne they soon have their hands full with a grisly murder.
A young girl is found, her hands clasped in prayer, a rosary in her death grip. So begins a killing spree where the only common theme seems to be religion. Each of them attends Catholic school. However, although the M.O is always the same, the locations change, the age range differs and the bodies are arranged differently.
Surely there must be another common link? It's up to Burne and Belzano to find out before the body count rises.
The first book in the series featuring Belzano and Burne, however it isn't the first that I've read. I wasn't disappointed, and had this been the first I had read, it would have done it's job of wanting me to read more.
Highly recommended for those of us that like a meaty crime novel with a wholly unexpected ending that managed to surprise me. I gobbled it up in two days.

It was good. A good twist at the end. A little wordy and long at times and I had to give it a little break and come back to it. But once it started to get intense, I was totally absorbed.

Solid first in a series. Ending was a surprise wait a very obvious red herring. Dark tones and solid investigators. I also enjoyed Philadelphia as a setting a lot more than I thought I would!

The plot was good, but oh were there clichés. We have a veteran detective, grizzled with a dark past/secret. We have his young female new to the ranks partner, who to be fair was a well developed character.
All in all this was a regular read, nothing spectacularly bad or good about it, just average.

J'ai adoré ce livre ! Jusque bout, je n'avais aucune idée de qui était le tueur, et j'avoue avoir été totalement surprise par toutes ces révélations.
