The Bookshop of Forgotten Dreams is an adorable and steamy enemies to lovers story about Sarah and Maxime. Sarah is a bookshop owner in a small town struggling to make ends meet after an untimely flood. Maxime is the quintessential bad boy actor who always seems to find trouble. His troubles have finally caught up to him and the only way to lessen the damage is community service helping Sarah repair her bookshop. In true enemies to lovers form, Sarah and Maxime have a really rough start but eventually both their walls come down until the inevitable happens and threatens the progress they’ve made.
There’s so much more to people then what meets the eye and finding the right person to break down those walls and truly see you is a remarkable thing. Can Sarah be that person for Maxime? And can Sarah finally learn to actually live her life and not live vicariously through her books?
Thank you Netgalley and publishers for this eARC in exchange for my honest feedback.

A sweet romance with some sex. Sarah inherited her grandmother's bookstore in a little town. Her grandmother had raised her and Sarah loved books. She hadn't much money though. Maxime was an actor who was always in trouble for fighting. At last he had one fight too many, and his lawyer and agent and an old friend manged to just keep him out of jail by community service. Helping Sarah with her bookstore, making repairs and keeping it running. He had to pay a fee to Sarah to work there, which would help her with the costs of her restoration and give her a little money in the book to afford what needed to be done. He had to wear an ankle monitor and was only allowed 2 hours during the day when he could be elsewhere. His friend helped with one of those hours by going running with him in the mornings so he could let off some steam. Sarah was terrified of Maxime's temper, but she was curious as to the reason for it.

The Bookshop of Forgotten Dreams is a short and easy summer read, which is perfect for those looking for something lighthearted and cute that will give you all the feel goods.
The story alternates between Sarah, the introverted owner of a small bookshop that has recently suffered some flooding, and Max, a bad boy actor who must help Sarah around the shop as part of his community service project. The two could not be more opposite, but despite that the two of them together kind of works.
Overall, I thought it was a cute book, but the pacing was a bit off for me. Sarah and Max’s relationship needed a bit more fleshing out in my opinion, but otherwise I enjoyed it!

Great title, great cover, bad translation. I think this could use another run through to iron out the wonky french to english translations that may have slipped through. It's definitely understandable, I just think it can be very distracting!

I want to start with saying I enjoyed the concept. The execution is where I struggled with. I enjoyed the main female character and her relationship with the people in the town. The main male character I struggled with and I felt there were some plot issues that maybe could have helped improve his character. If you like bookstores and romance you might enjoy this!Thank you NetGalley and Harper Collins UK for the chance to read this!

Didn't feel any connect to the characters as they felt under developed, plot was just a bit bland with nothing happening - felt as though it was going no where with no interest in how it ended.
