If this book wasn't so short, I would've DNFd it. The main character is extremely self centered and obsessed with all the men who drool over her. Especially her married coworker. I'm glad I got this book for free. I won't be reading any of the sequels.

A big plus is that it took ~2 hours to finish, so for my rush to double my books read this year, it's a winner.

Unfortunately that's about all it's good for. A guy gets killed because of a fish. And even though main character Rylie acknowledges that it's stupid, it's just too stupid.

Rylie as a character isn't very likeable either. She's a judgemental b-word that is dealing with her now ex-boyfriend of 5 years cheating on her....and going gaga over a married man. Not to mention her weird "mark your territory" attitude toward high school boyfriend Luke, who she works with and I'm assuming will eventually get with at the end of the series? This girl is toxic. And the "witty" observations about the other characters - especially other female characters is gross.

The mystery...is stupid. She makes dumb decisions because why? The trope? I dunno.

And then it ends with very little satisfaction, except you find out who is willing to kill over a fish. A fish.

I don’t 100% know if I actually liked this book or not. I enjoyed the storyline but I feel like some parts were drawn out and others were rushed. Nonetheless it’s addictive and will eventually be reading the rest of Stella’s books

Stella Bixby got me into the whole Cozy Mystery genre. Catfished was so much fun! I was looking for a break from tense thrillers that were giving me bad dreams and Catfished was just the ticket.
The characters are funny but there is enough suspense to keep me turning the pages.
Well done, Stella! Now to download the series!
