It was a cute, lighthearted book.  A few grammatical issues and sometimes the MC was TSTL, but I finished it.

A fun light mystery. I wish there had been more time to flesh out the characters, but I still enjoyed it. I felt like I didn’t have enough time to really get invested in the long run, but it was nice to see a heroine in her late 20s/early 30s and a cozy mystery that takes place outdoors instead of in a bookshop/coffee shop/bed and breakfast.

Honestly - I got this for free and ended up loving it, it was pretty surface level (giving it 4/5 rather than 5/5), which made it an easy read.

Her first book I have read, easy read and fun read. I will read the next. My daughter bought me this for my birthday. I would have read it faster but but have been recovering from a stroke(december 2020). I really laughed when the part about her ripping her jeans in the butt, that happened to me at a restaurant. The girl is a park ranger and finds a dead body her first day and won't stop investigating. Her ex boyfriend keeps trying to stop her and to keep her safe. Fun characters.

I know this is a series, but this book didn't feel like it was enough to stand on its own. It could have been fleshed out much more. I would've liked more details of the main character's backstory and a satisfying ending with her love interest.

Good thing it was less than 200 pages, otherwise it might have been a DNF.

The main character was kind of immature, eg. Nasty thoughts about others appearances, fatphobia, being mad but also delighted that a married guy was flirting with her, and her lack of communication with the love interest.

It's an easy read though, and if you're in the mood for something quick and light this might be suitable.
