What a bizarre and crazy story. This was one time I was glad to have seen to movie just to have a clue what was going on.

Membosankan, berputar-putar, gak jelas. Aku gak paham dimana bagus dan menariknya buku ini.

I had very high hopes for this book. It was the first time for me to get familiar with this classic childrens story. Unfortunately this book made me really confused, I suppose that's the point. However I like to understand what I am reading. I think this is the kind of book that you need to read a few times in order to understand it on a more profound level. It's not a bad story, it's just too confusing to get a higher rating.

I was originally assigned this for a class last year, and of course, I didn't read it. Reading for academic purposes makes me feel illiterate, but I decided to pick it up now, many months later lol.
Anyway, I am very surprised at how much I enjoyed this, I thought I would hate it since it's a children's book, but it was a vibe.
I went into it with a "the curtains are blue which represents depression" perspective because I studied this novel, which added to my enjoyment.
Lewis did such a wonderful job of critiquing the various aspects of the rigid victorian era through the imagination of a little girl. I think this applies now, too, how so many social structures and rules are nonsensical. Like the way the Cheshire cat put it, "We're all mad here. I'm mad, you're mad."
I also liked the characterization of Alice and her struggle with identity during her adventure. "Who in the world am I? Ah, that's the great puzzle!"
This novel was also funny to me. All the strange little quirks made me chuckle. My favorite chapters were "A mad tea party" and "Who stole the tarts?".

This book was so interesting!
I think children's classics and I don't click very well because I always look for too much meaning behind certain things but can't find it. That was the case with this book, but I enjoyed it a lot regardless.
Alice annoyed me at first, but I came to see her as a really observant kid who was constantly trying to gain knowledge, which is awesome.
This could become one of my favorite classics if I ever reread it.

Loved this one! I felt really proud of myself for predicting the ending even though this book is literally written for children and the ending was super predictable - but hey, take the victories you can get! I listened to this on The Sleepy Bookshelf podcast, and it was a great story to fall asleep to. The narrator read in a slow pace with a sleepy voice, so my mind very quickly wandered off. I think anyone can read this, as it's a charming and fun story, with many loveable characters.
