I’m not a fan of nonsense, “it was all a dream,” or stories with no weight, plus Alice’s story has bored me to sleep multiple nights. Time to face facts: the movies are better. 😂

"Curioser and curioser." A very queer and quirky little story, and quite different from the impressions that both Disney movies implied about it. (However both the original and the Tim Burton movies I found to be very enjoyable!) I thoroughly enjoyed the ridiculous nonsense that Lewis Carroll created and couldn't help thinking that he had written this in a "inside joke-esque" circumstance from all the puzzling twists and delightful "hiccups!" A perfectly joyous little read! (o:

An engaging and whimsical read for all ages that captures the innocence and imagination of children while also discussing serious topics in a metaphorical and fantastical sense

Was honestly pretty funny and it was nice to read a book without having to be thinking of any deeper meaning

(I just by chance found out that I had posted this review under a different book with a similar name and so did most of my friends. It's been nearly three years. Oh dear. Anyway.)
I wouldn't have thought this book is as great as it actually is. I, of course, read Alice in Wonderland years and years ago as a little girl. I haven't read it in so many years and I'm not sure if we even own a copy of it (in German) anymore. Anyway, in Oxford, I just had to buy it because it was so fitting and I've always wanted to read some fairy tales.
It's, of course, a children's book but full of puns (some totally amazing, some just so stupid that I can't stop laughing for an hour) and amazingly weird characters. I enjoyed reading it a lot!
It's definitely still one of my favourite stories ever.
