Likeable characters. Hooray! Been reading books lately with annoying characters and I'm glad to finally finish a book still liking the MCs. Harper was my spirit animal. The need to be alone is something I understand very well. Thus, despite her changing and outgrowing being my spirit animal, I'm more than happy to see her exploring her potentials. I really like her. Brody is someone I didn't pay attention to on the first book but, man, do I love this guy now. He is very sweet and is someone you can talk to without being judged.
The story is really cute and I personally think they make a great couple. I enjoy their interactions and their subtle flirting. Seldom do I think about the future of a couple and their relationship once I'm done with the book but I hope they will last a lifetime because they are quite a match. Seeing how they are with each other, I want to believe they are up to a healthy and strong relationship. They're patient with each other and their care for one another transcends their differences.
I definitely like this book way better than Biggest Flirts. This is the type of book I will not mind rereading countless times whenever I want a light read.

Maybe not when she was breaking up with him for stupid reasons, but I did like her again when she took it back right away. The story is really cute and I personally think they make a great couple. • Biggest Flirt was my first Jennifer Echols book, but I knew it wouldn't be my last. I loved the writing and that the characters were more real teenager, less "ideal" teenager. Perfect Couple definitely has both of those things that I loved.
• Harper comes from a messed up family. Her parents have been almost divorced for several years, argue with each other and put Harper in the middle. This makes her quite and someone who avoids conflict and confrontation, which also leads to her boring relationship with Kennedy, who is "perfect" for her.
• I hated Kennedy with a burning passion from the get go. He was a jack ass to pretty much everyone and incredibly self centered. I was not at all sad to see that relationship come to an end.
• Brody is nothing like Kennedy. He's not at all what Harper would expect for herself, which is why he is so good for her. He also cares about her and puts her first, unlike Kennedy the jerk.
• Harper and Brody are brought together as the Perfect Couple That Never Was. Once they get that title they start to notice each other more and it's super cute.
• I did have one issue with Perfect Couple. This is an issue for me though, and not everyone will be bothered by it like I was.
• Watching Harper and Brody coming together and figure out that their relationship and feelings doesn't have to like there parents was adorable. I also really liked that Brody got Harper to come out of her shell and stand up for herself and not just be a wallflower.
Overall I really enjoyed Perfect Couple and I am beyond excited to read Most Likely to Succeed!

Spoiler
When they are voted PCTNW they are both seeing someone else. Harper is with Kennedy and Brody is casually with another girl. They have a minor hook up with each other before officially ending it with either Kennedy or the other girl. And this bothers me. It's just not something I particularly care for in books. They way it's written doesn't make it too bad (Kennedy and the girl (I really can't remember her name) are painted as not great people), but still I expected more from Harper. She's not the type of girl to kiss another boy when she's dating a different one. Brody and the girl's relationship was a bit different and more casual so it bothered me a little less than Harper and Kennedy.• Watching Harper and Brody coming together and figure out that their relationship and feelings doesn't have to like there parents was adorable. I also really liked that Brody got Harper to come out of her shell and stand up for herself and not just be a wallflower.

There were some things that I liked, and some things that were eye-rolly. A lot to do with personal reading preferences, though. Full review to come soon.

I liked the idea of Harper and Brody as a couple, itself, but I found that they both were incredibly irritating at times. Their impetuous actions often resulted in yelling and hair-tugging on my part, paired with facetiousness. That said, I think that the kinds of things they did that made them aggravating in my eyes were also the kind of impulsive actions that were expected out of these characters.
Jennifer Echols never fails to provide a realistic, endearing, and breathtaking depiction of love, and Perfect Couple was no different. I look forward to more of her novels in the future, as well as anxiously anticipated final book in this trilogy!
