I don't mind suspending disbelief for technology, and maybe I should be more accepting of this implausible political intrigue, but I found it a bridge too far. Plus, he's unpleasantly misogynistic.

I don't usually pick a book that's in the middle of a series, but I found this in the library and figured I'd give it a shot. I was pleasantly surprised by its pace and the characters. I am intrigued enough now to go back to the first book and work my way through the series from the beginning.
As a stand alone story the book is quite enjoyable but there are references to people and events that have occurred prior so starting from the top will fill in some gaps for me.
All in all, an enjoyable adventure.

I'm not sure exactly how to sum up how I felt about this one. First, I hadn't read the previous books in the series, and while it didn't seem to matter, it's possible I missed some subtle aspects of the story due to lack of knowledge of the history within the series. That said, this read to me like a Tom Clancy or Vince Flynn type of story. I normally enjoy those, and I liked this one too in some ways. It was a bit of a slog in parts. Overall, it was ok, but not something that made me desperate to go back and read the previous 21 books.

Just couldn't get into this book. Cannot pinpoint exactly why, but I could have happily skipped the technical descriptions.

I received this book from Goodreads Giveaway.
I enjoy books of this genre but never read Dale Brown. I think this being book #22 and the way it's written didn't do well for me as I don't relate to the characters and there were so many. I wish the first half was as good as the last half.

Review 83 - The Moscow Offensive
What happens when Russia goes on the warpath ? Read this book and find out.
Another fantastic book in this series, Dale Brown has created an amazing story involving combat aircraft and 12 foot tall combat robots.
Continuing with the characters from the last few books (Brad McLanahan and Nadia Rozek), this book involves a lot more ground combat than previous books as the characters are involved in a plot to cause trouble on US soil.
As I have said previously, I have been reading this authors books since the late 1990s and will never get bored of reading them especially as he began returning to space technology in the next books.

A near future sci-fi thriller full of action, secret plots, and old grudges heating up a strained détente between the US, Russia and the McLanahan's and their allies. The ruthless Russian oligarch, Gennadiy Gryzlov now has his own war robot version of the McLanahan CID battle armor and has hatched a plan to attack America and the Iron Wolf Squadron and are the only ones that recognize the attacks when they come and the only ones that can effectively deal with the threat. Unfortunately they are also on the outs with American president Barbeau who believes that the Iron Wolf Squadron are the enemy that must be stopped. Working to end the threat without official sanction, the McLanahan's and the Iron Wolf Squadron work to protect America using their advanced military technology and skill. I received a free copy of this book through Goodreads First Reads Giveaways.
