Book 12 of 2025 finished 30/1/25 ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

Book 3 of the Broke and Beautiful series

Construction worker Russell has been in love with Abby from the moment he laid eyes on her but she comes from money and is far too good for him. He stays in the friend zone where he thinks belongs until one night the pair step over the line of friendship. Russell struggles to keep Abby at a safe distance while Abby is determined to make him lose control.

My thoughts: This will mirror my thoughts of the other books in this series. The writing isn’t the author’s best work but is still good. The characters are all likeable and the story is lighthearted and easy to read. The series is full of strong banter and friendships which I love. And as usual with Tessa Bailey books, the romance is open door and the scenes are spicy!

It wasn't anything special, but it did its job. They both annoyed me but they also both had foundation for their flaws which made it manageable.

The healthiest of the three couples, by far. His insecurities are going to be a lifelong issue for them though.

His internal monolog was too melodramatic for my tastes

Well, this was fun! I love that we get to see the progression of Abby and Russell’s relationship throughout the first two books, so them getting together is not so abrupt.
I seriously enjoy the miss communication trope, but I think this one went too far and hurt Abby so much…
The pace was superb and I think this is the book I enjoyed the most out of the whole series!  I’m sad it’s over.
