Well, this was fun! I love that we get to see the progression of Abby and Russell’s relationship throughout the first two books, so them getting together is not so abrupt.
I seriously enjoy the miss communication trope, but I think this one went too far and hurt Abby so much…
The pace was superb and I think this is the book I enjoyed the most out of the whole series! I’m sad it’s over.

I love Tessa Bailey- I always will but this book drove me NUTS. It's difficult when you are going through and author's catalog to not compare certain works to others and this book was the prebook of Love her or lose her. The miscommunication trope was the only fuel this book needed and it was very frustrating. I hate when a story is resolved by another character communicating for the main character because then nothing is resolved. The uncommunicative idiot didn't have to grow at all and that can put a glare on the book for me. Also this book was slow burny as hell so you just had the chemistry to carry you through the first 60% and that is too much to have to rely on chemistry.

First thing… loved how in love Russell was with Abby throughout the whole series. And now we finally are getting their story. I thought it was really cute, spicy scenes were just right and overall loved the banter between these two. You could see the love they had for each other grow throughout the story!

This was my favorite of the Broke and Beautiful series. The most believable too. Which, is neither here nor there because I know Tessa likes to give people the wildest jobs she can think of. What I REALLY loved about this is the narrator. I don't think I'd have appreciated Russell's abruptness quite as much, without the narrator giving him the fabulous accent. It took away any abruptness I might have physically read and turned it into just normal NY talk. Rachel Dulude did a phenomenal job.

This was a strong reminder of why Tessa Bailey is queen. Even 10 years ago she did not miss. There was a lot of discussion about virginity in this book that I could have done without but otherwise: great tension, great pining, great banter, great steam.

Book 3
Make me
Closing in the series we have Abby and Russell make it a call. Obviously by now we know their backgrounds - contrasting but having a beautiful friendship. In a friends to lovers turn Russell is scared to lose Abby and express his love while Abby is too busy caught up in her family company to find time for love. Then one night and alcohol changes it all.
Steamy hot romance is all over here!

all of the books in this series were just mid. not terrible, but not great. i hate 3rd act breakups and the one in this book is so unnecessary it pissed me off. this would’ve been tons better if it was a slow burn instead of the constant miscommunication and will they will they won’t they.
