I think this was a better story than the first book in the series. I can see why it didn't become a serious, similar to the author's main focus. It's well done, and tells a good story. The location shifting and characters details are important aspects to the book, and move it along.

Again, a solid spy novel which kept me engaged and on the edge of my seat. The protagonist (Michael Osbourne) is yet again pursuing October, the assassin-for-hire who tried to kill Osbourne in the previous novel. I don't want to give much away, but it is a fun read and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Entertaining spy novel - a bit predictable at times, but lively writing and interesting characters.

I wonder when there will be the third one. Still so many questions unanswered, yet I like how there's two of the best who respect each other.

A good read.

It was a good 2nd book following "The Mark of the Assassin". This one follows up with Michael Osbourne as his return to the CIA and searching for the assassin October. It also gave me more background on the IRA and the conflict in Northern Ireland. I know very little on this part of history and it was really interesting. I also love reading about characters that later on show up in the Gabriel Allon book series and it feels organic. I enjoyed the ending, I know some people may not, but I feel that it was the best ending possible for the characters and it fit their personality profiles. I think that if you like spy thrillers, you can't go wrong with Daniel Silva.
