It was a good 2nd book following "The Mark of the Assassin". This one follows up with Michael Osbourne as his return to the CIA and searching for the assassin October. It also gave me more background on the IRA and the conflict in Northern Ireland. I know very little on this part of history and it was really interesting. I also love reading about characters that later on show up in the Gabriel Allon book series and it feels organic. I enjoyed the ending, I know some people may not, but I feel that it was the best ending possible for the characters and it fit their personality profiles. I think that if you like spy thrillers, you can't go wrong with Daniel Silva.
