I enjoyed this -- Pearson made me feel like I was 13 again -- all that angst! So glad I'm not 13 any more!!

Good overall plot, the beginning DRAGGED ON with so much filler. I get that it was to develop the two main characters who end up meeting in the end, but still. We could do without all of the British slang and boring details. The plot was cute, but wouldn’t recommend wasting time. This book took forever to read.

I think I had my expectations too high for this novel. I believe I heard the author on fresh air and terry grosses deep soothing voice talking of how much fun this book based around fans of teen heartthrob David Cassidy. I was disappointed. I felt no empathy for the lead characters. I kept waiting to be pulled in and never was.

I remember being in love with David Cassidy at about age 11 so this was a fun read...

I really loved this book. I could see the characters and loved the storyline. It wasn't David Cassidy for me, but I identified with the girls just the same. I recommend this book.

Maybe 3.5 stars. I really enjoyed the first half of the novel and the author's ability to capture teen angst. I felt a bit like the second story, with the man (I've forgotten his name as I write this review) kept interrupting a great narrative. However, during the second half of the story, as the characters began interacting personally, I began really liking his side of the story and then didn't feel as much as though I could relate to the woman (ironic, since we're mostly the same age). Nevertheless, I enjoyed the story tremendously and would recommend it for a nice summer read.

I'm not quite half way through this and I'm not going to be finishing it. I'm really just not sure who the intended audience of this book is supposed to be. It's definitely YA writing, but what 16 year old knows who David Cassidy is? The topic is directed toward an older audience, but I certainly can't imagine my mother ever reading it. Just kind of a baffling book.

I loved most of this novel -- it was a surprisingly brilliant look back on female friendships and the phenomenon of teen heartthrobs. Well, until it turned into a chick-lit romance! Ack! The chick-lit part felt very tacked on and would have been so much better left off. I still give it three stars for the good parts.
