That T.M. Frazier — boy, does she know where to leave you on a cliffhanger or what?! She once again left me with questions and wondering what was going on and going to happen next. The endings both now and before didn’t leave me absolutely crazy, but I am still beyond excited for the final chapter of this trilogy to come to ahead! With that being said, Possession was even better than Perversion and I absolutely looooved it!

I had a great time reading Possession, it had its difficult times and heartbreaking moments, but it was really enjoyable, fun, and beautiful too. It made me laugh and woot and yell and fist pump — it was awesome! It kept me flipping the pages, eager to see what was coming next, I just flew through this book and couldn’t get enough. Possession was such an excellent read and I can’t wait for more Grim and Tricks!

This story and characters are amazing, but I don't love how short each book is. I don't need the background chapters either. The writing is good enough to connect me to the characters.

Possession (Perversion Trilogy #2) by TM Frazier

Gritty Dark Romance. #2 in a Trilogy. Does Not Stand Alone.

“No killing kids. Or women, unless they shoot first. Understood?”
“Everyone else fucking dies.”

We are back in the supper gritty and violent gang-run town of Lacking, FL and I couldn’t be more excited to be there. After doing a re-read of Perversion via Audible, I jumped right into Possession. I'm really glad I did the reread because Possession just gets right on with the story and doesn’t stop the action to recap the first book. It’s a pretty short read, I sat down to read it, and the only breaks I took were to say “holy shit!” a few times, and then get some popcorn for the last 15% so I’d stop biting my nails.
"This thing between us. That’s the real magic. And it’s no fucking trick."

Tricks and Grim are on opposite ends of a deadly gang war and things are going to get worse before they can get better. IF they can get better. WE know what happened at the end of Perversion, but Grim doesn’t yet. It’s amazing how TM Frazier can write some of the most twisted and horribly violent stuff, and I eat it up like candy.
“If we can’t stop it, we might as well toast to it … To war. To peace. To prosperity. To death. To life.”

Despite the violent and gritty gang war, this is mostly a story of star-crossed lovers.
"Tricks is all innocence and attitude. Both fearless and terrified. Rebellion with a side of caution. I’m not worthy of her. Of this dangerous life-altering thing between us. Never will be. It doesn’t matter. Worthy or not, I’m fucking taking her. Consequences be damned. Tricks is mine. She always has been.
Always will be."

But Marco has Tricks now. And he has help. Can Grim get her back before Marco breaks her? Or even worse, kills her?

OMG, the angst! The violence! The surprises! Possession had me glued to my kindle, and right now I kind of hate TM Frazier a little because I don’t know how the hell she is going to give the couple the HEA they need! The HEA I need!
"She was fucking perfect. It was like we were fucking with more than just our bodies. Minds. Fucking souls if I believed in that kind of shit. That’s the thing with Tricks. She makes me want to believe in things. In life. In humanity. In us."

Likes:

  • •Addictive and unputdownable.

  • •Full of surprises.

  • •TM Frazier is never afraid to go anywhere in her books and never holds back on violence.

  • •The amazing cameos.

  • •So fast paced I didn’t want to stop reading to pee!

  • •Completely unpredictable.

  • •Left me doubting how this can end but I am trusting TM Frazier.

Dislikes:

  • •Seemed awfully short, took me about 3 hours with interruptions. I would have rather waited and had a duet, but this makes good business sense for her, and mostly I am just dying for more.

The Down & Dirty:

Once again, TM Frazier had me glued to my kindle breathlessly following every surprising, gritty, deadly, violent and sexy twist and turn. She had me gleefully wishing horrible violent deaths, swooning over the romance, crying over the family love, and freaking out over what comes next. I love how her world is fake enough for us to put aside reality and go with it, yet real enough to feel like you are right there with them. The bonus cameos brought some fun and lightness into the non-stop violent action. I am already counting the days (27) until Permission! I need it NOW! Honestly, I am really glad I didn’t wait to binge, because the anticipation is just making it even better. Thank goodness it’s a short wait!

I should have expected that this was going into dark themes after the first one and that it's only the second book. But I'm sooo ready for them to have happily ever after without violence and rape. It's a tough listen at times and very intense. But very addicting and the couple have both an intriguing back story and a current love - obsession kind of deal

Oh. My. Goodness. TM Frazier really knows how to write an amazing story. And is it December yet? This wait is killing me! First the wait for this second installment of Grim and Emma Jean, and now I have even more questions! It's killing me in the best of ways.

If you haven't read Perversion yet you need to. This is a continuation of that story, it picks up right where it left off, so you will be lost unless you have read it.

I loved the first book and this second one is just as amazing. Grim and Emma Jean are it for each other, if only they could catch a break and be together without all this other stuff getting in the way. Emma Jean is being held captive by Los Muertos, like she has been for a while but this time it is different. This time she doesn't have the little bit of freedom she once did. And she proves just how strong she is to survive everything that happens to her and try and find a way out for herself. Because who knows when/if someone will save her. She can save herself.

And Grim? He was awesome. I love him. Really I love all of these characters. He has some issues, things are tense and there might not be a way to stop a war between the groups. At least he has some great people on his side if it comes to that.

I feel like I really don't want to say too much about the story because I don't want to ruin anything. I started this reading and didn't want to put it down. Real life intruded, but I snuck little bits every chance I got. Because I needed to see what happened. This was more emotional and action-packed than the first one. From the first words, I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what punches were coming next. And I loved every minute of it. There were some great surprises thrown in, some that made me squeal with glee on the train...and then everyone looked at me like a crazy person, but I didn't care because...well just because who wouldn't have if they were reading what I was? This was a great read and I can't wait for the next book because I need to see what happens next. December is not that far away right??

Hurry! Need the next book!

Omg!!! Must hurry to get to the next book. This book had so many ups and downs I felt I was on a freaking roller coaster. Grim is just badass and Tricks is strong as hell!! The amount of abuse this couple is going through is going to forge their love and bond through fire!!

POSSESSION gets my 5 stars! The Evil Ginger has done it again. The dark, the twisty, the intensity! We get it all in book two of this trilogy. I could not put this book down. Once I started, the world outside of this book stopped existing. If you can even imagine it, Tricks and Grim's connection gets even more intense in this book. You could just feel it crackling through the pages. Oh and I cant even explain my excitement when two unexpected guests from previous books popped up, one being my first ever book boyfriend...gahh! I can't wait to see what Frazier brings us in the final book of this Trilogy. Whatever it is, I know it will completely blow my mind! Read the first two books now so you're ready on December 11th!

Possession

Absolutely loved this book but I hate that what happens at the end was repetitive. I don’t want to give it away but using the same mix up twice was a huge flaw in this book that seemed like lazy writing. The book was absolutely amazing up until that point. I loved that tricks took time to come back to herself because it was much more realistic than her being ok or glossing over everything she went through. Tricks really showed her strength in this book and from showed his drive to do anything to keep her safe.

I am completed addicted to T.M. Frazier's books. Doesn't matter how dark they get I'm there to devour them.

Once again, listened on audio book (as I have with all of T.M. Frazier's books). They are the same from the previous one and they're great.

Huge CW: there is a lot of post rape moments, most of the rapes we don't see but the set up and the aftermath is there. So please be aware of that if you're going to read this one.

However this was probably one of my least favorites, I still...I don't know if enjoyed is a great word to use for this one since most of this book deals with during and after EJ's rape and also the aftermath of of her being taken and raped again by Marco's men. But I was glued to the audiobook all day, didn't want to put this down.

While I, for the most part, like Grimm and EJ at the same time they weren't very bright in this installment. They both had their dumb moments in the first book but this one just added onto those and I couldn't go along with it.
SpoilerWhen "Gabby" is brought into the hospital, no one actually checks to see who it really is. Immediately when they are told that she's been brought in with a clean thru and thru gun shot to the shoulder I was suspicious. A clean shot, in an area that isn't life threatening, and that's the only damage done to her...from this very violent, rapey gang. Sure. Then when Grimm has to leave and doesn't leave anyone there to protect EJ just his mom (adopted mom), and then EJ just magically falls asleep waiting for the doctor to come out. The amount of eye rolling I did was giving me a headache. Of course it's a set up and she's going to be recaptured again.

But despite some of the roll my eye moments, I loved that we saw Preppy again! His moment with Grimm was awesome. Also King made an appearance which was a nice treat as well.

As I was listening, I was kind of left with the feeling that even w/o having read book 3 yet, that this installment could have been split up and put into the end of book 1 and the beginning of book 3. There was, what could have been a cut-off point at about the half way mark of this book and the other half probably could have been put with book 3 and just made this a duet. I might change my mind when I listen to the last book but right now I don't think this needed to be a trilogy.

Can't wait to read the final installment.
