Had to do a quick re-read before the next book comes out.

Meena & Lucien
She is a reporter who's next assignment is to investigate a secret society of vampire killers. She also has the ability to know how everyone she meets is going to die. She doesn't have much luck with men because of that. Lucien is a vampire who she falls in love with, maybe because he's already dead and her powers don't freak him out. The next 2 books deal with how certain people want him dead, how they manage their affair and break up, and how it all plays out.
An easy, but fun read...humorous and light

If you want to read a New York City based romance with a human choosing between a vampire or guy whose whole thing is hating vampires where the human is out of high school, this is an easy rec. The human woman even has special mind powers that make her different from other humans; like this is so Twilight that I'm surprised I didn't read it in high school. Honestly not worth reading unless you're very into Meg Cabot or enjoy Twilight knockoffs (thankfully, I'm enough of both to have liked this).

I liked this book. I'm hoping that there'll be a series. I want to hear more about Meena and her adventures.

I usually love Meg Cabot books and until the end I couldn't read them one fast enough. Sadly, the story didn't end the way I had hope or even liked. I like the Alaric character, but not with Meena. I am going to try Overbite and hope that it improves on the ending that I found so disappointing. :(

Have I only been reading this for three days? I feel like it’s been never ending. It was fine but long winded for no reason. I liked that it was very cheeky which was fun but I think it would have been more enjoyable if about 1/4 of it had been left on the editors floor. 3/5 ⭐️’s

I wasn't sure how I felt about another "vampire series", but I gave in since I love Meg Cabot. I'm so glad I did. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series now. Lots of fun...and it's not just a replica of other series. She adds her own twists. And a great leading lady who doesn't "necessarily" fall for the vampire...okay, kinda.

If Cabot had to give in and write a vampire story, at least she did it her way and absolutely well. Funny, smart, and enjoyable.

I liked the premise, but felt somewhat disconnected from the main characters. I'm not compelled to read the next in the series after reading some of the reviews.

I get that this book was written for a young demographic. I still don't understand why the good guy's supervisor has to go into minute details with the girl who not only doesn't work for the Pallentine Guard, but doesn't need to know every single detail anyway. Also, why does the antagonist insist on revealing other details and motives right before going in for the kill? In this day and age, many authors have figured out how to reveal details without using so much dialogue. Anyone old enough to read this book knows that Meena wouldn't be privvy to all the details that are offered to her.
