This would have normally gotten a 2.5-3 ⭐️ but there were FOUR DIFFERENT SEXUAL ASSAULT scenes, all of which were quickly moved passed and excused, three of which were committed by the same guy, who we’re supposed to see as a misunderstood antihero but in actuality, especially in his later perspective chapters, is the most rapey, Nice Guy™️ motherfucker to ever exist in fiction, to the point that I cannot believe that this was written by a woman and meant to be taken non-satirically. I hope Meg Cabot is deeply ashamed of this book because if I was it’s author I’d be trying to get rid of every copy in existence. Only finished this book out of spite and to give it the rating it so deserves.

Might read the next one but the ending is so disappointing
And nobody cares that her dog is named after a kiefer sutherland role and i dont need to be told that he is half a milliontimes in 400 pages
hate that meena and alaric looks like it might turn into a thing, after he has consistently been disrespecting her boundaries and assaulting her througout the book. Eg when hes looking for a bite, when he kisses her in the rubble ect.
