Heavy-handed with no actionable advice until the backmatter.

Thank you netgalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I thought this was a really cute storybook about a little girl who befriends the Moon and learns an important lesson about taking care of the earth. Illustrations are beautiful and the rhymes simple but poetic.

Absolutely beautiful illustrations. Story is a little didactic.

When Sofia dreams of visiting the Moon one night, she discovers people are hurting the Earth! With the Moon as her guide, Sofia learns how we can work together to make Earth feel better.
This is a beautiful story about appreciating the world around you and recognizing your impact on it.

A lot of set up for a heavy-handed message about not polluting.

Sofia dreams she visits her friend the Moon one night, who shows her how the Earth is suffering because of pollution, and tells her ways she can help make things better. The story is told in a way that is effective without being preachy, with afterwords about how pollution is affecting the planet, and small ways people can help that add up to big changes. It's a sweet story, and a great message, but the real star here is the beautiful artwork. The soft, glowing illustrations have such a dreamlike quality, they're absolutely swoonworthy! A perfect addition to any child's library.

Thank you Publishers and Netgalley for allowing me to read this book!
I loved the cute artwork and story! Sofia and the moon were very well crafted characters. I didn’t expect that “save the earth” to appear but it also seemed to fit in and read organically, so I didn’t mind it. The rhymes were simple and had good word choices-nothing overdone other than that “out” twice in a row. I thought some of the informative pages at the end weren’t targeted at the kids. Kids don’t drive or cook. Would the parents read that if they already know about things they can do from hearing it on the news? Overall, it was a pretty good children’s book.
