I am happy and sad. A good ending to the series, but I am going to miss these characters who have been with me for a decade.

It's always great to spend time with old friends and so it was with this final installment in Armistead Maupin's Tales of the City series. It's been 35 years since we first met Mouse, Brian, Mary Ann and Anna and time has been incredibly kind to them all, instilling depth and wisdom into their wonderfully unconventional lives. As a wrap-up to the series, this book was fine - we get Anna's backstory, a little bit of 21st century trans subcultural commentary and a Burning Man adventure - but for me, it just lacked something ... perhaps I missed my other favourite character in the series ... San Francisco?

Good but I would have liked more of Anna and a little less of the others, especially with this book title. It's no longer the last book so the ending is OK but for a final book it would have been a little disappointing.

A little disappointing. Burning Man, really? I saw Maupin speak at the library and he said this was the last one. If this is true, I would have liked a slightly denser tale.

Felt more like a conclusion for Anna specifically than the end of a 9 book series.
I still really liked it but there were things I'd change, like the fact that the main cast was split into different groups for majority of the book and how Mary Ann, the first character we meet in the whole series and (arguably) the main character of majority of the series was only in 3 scenes and didn't even talk to Anna or Brian throughout the whole thing.
Still really good and my favorite series, I was just a little disappointed with how things turned out as a conclusion 9 books.
