The Days of Anna Madrigal by Armistead Maupin
3.0
It's always great to spend time with old friends and so it was with this final installment in Armistead Maupin's Tales of the City series. It's been 35 years since we first met Mouse, Brian, Mary Ann and Anna and time has been incredibly kind to them all, instilling depth and wisdom into their wonderfully unconventional lives. As a wrap-up to the series, this book was fine - we get Anna's backstory, a little bit of 21st century trans subcultural commentary and a Burning Man adventure - but for me, it just lacked something ... perhaps I missed my other favourite character in the series ... San Francisco?
