This book was fine. I really liked Shep, he was clearly an early iteration of the Mulvaney brothers. However the plot was pretty thin, this was very similar to the first in the series.

ARC provided by GRR in exchange for an honest review. This was such a great read/listen. I adored both Elijah (rabbit) and Shep (Sam). I felt so much for both the characters. I hated what had happened to Elijah but loved how Shep was able to provide a home and safe place for him. This was not your typical bodyguard/celebrity romance it had depth with the character building and the side characters were all interesting. Liam did a fantastic job on this narration. He is a new to me narrator and I just found someone else to look for! Definitely going to be reading the rest of this series and hopefully blowing through Onley’s backlist!!

This book was phenomenal. It had everything I wanted, obsession, hurt/comfort, revenge, people getting what they are owed, a murderous golden retriever, and steam. I absolutely loved Shep, he was interesting, and dynamic, and self aware. shep and Elijah fit perfectly. My only complaint (which is thin at best) is I wish I had gotten more of Elijah getting to step into himself and be who he is in front of the world. We got a lot of him opening up with Shep and Wyatt and Charlie but I would have loved more of him being who he is in the spot light. 10/10 would deff recommend.

They were the same, Shep realized. Kindred spirits, wearing masks to make life easier for others.

I really liked the relationship development in this one. Elijah broke my heart and Shep is a sweetheart (for a sociopath). The plot was also really fascinating
