I really love the series. I guess I'm waiting for book #5 to come out like everyone else.
To be honest, it is "just another vampire" series. However, I'm a fan of how this author writes, which truly says a lot because if an author cannot express the story...well, let's just say I throw it on my bookshelf of "ehhhhh, I'll read it when I have nothing else to read." There's always something else to read.
While I might not have a blog, like most reviewers it seems, I do have to complain that while I like the author's writing style, she either forgot to reference her character personality sheets on Alice. Alice does some things that I can't find her doing if I dissect her character traits, personality, history, etcetera. At least that's the only complaint I have, and I'm not going to knock a star off because of it. ☺️✌️

Me ha gustado mucho el ultimo libro y como tengo entendido en realidad no es el ultimo pero al parecer Amanda tuvo problemas escribiendo Swear, de igual manera pienso que este libro fue bueno siempre cumpliendo con su cometido de entrener.

Lots of action, really good book. Although, not being able to get it as a download via Kindle was a big downer.

Well, I managed to read this one within pretty much two days. However, that wasn't even because I was enthralled by the story, or in love with the characters, desperate to know how it ends... It was just... There...
It was on my kindle, downloaded a while ago to see what a "self published" novel could be. Millions of copies, millions of dollars, Hocking has reportedly got from this series... And from what? Pages and pages of unedited nothing, drivel, uninteresting filler. Really, I can't remember much of what I was told was happening. Mostly I remember being annoyed with the glaringly evident lack of proofreading and rampant inconsistencies.

Basically, the main characters friend who's not really a friend is killed, and for some reason she thinks she can find out who and "take revenge" - and quite implausibly this actually happens? In the end, of course, she stumbles on the "answer" to the "mystery."
Then there's the secondary "plot" about the child vampire that was made without the consent of the "father figure" (Carlisle Cullen anyone?) and how she's nothing but trouble and for some reason these vigilante-style vampires are called in BY THE HUMAN POLICE to get rid of the "threat."

It's all very silly. And quite unlikely.

And of course there's the "love story." Only it isn't really a love story, because she keeps questioning it, him, herself. She keeps saying that she loves him; like she has to say it all the time, otherwise she'll forget.
And don't forget the love triangle. Because there's got to be a third wheel. There has to be "the ex," or someone else who just can't live without... what's her name?

Oh, that's right, Hocking's leading lady is clearly named after the better of the female characters in "Twilight": Alice. Though this one has more of the personality of Bella, which is a shame.

Anyway. 2 out of 5. Good to see the end of the series, wouldn't read it again. Also, wouldn't recommend it, unless all you're looking for is unimportant fluff filler to waste some time on.

EDIT: Hmmm, so this ISN'T the last book? She's intending, some time or other, when she feels like it, to write another? Why? Alice made her choice: she "loves" Jack and she's "decided" what she wants to do with her eternity. We don't need an explanation for how/why Alice was all along actually "intended" for Jack and not Peter.

Stop flogging this dead horse, Hocking. It's done.

Overall not a bad series... Not particularly a great one either but was interesting enough to make me keep reading. Not sure if it was just my versions that I bought, but there seemed to be a lot of mistakes, like spelling, grammar, even having words around the wrong way, which kept me from getting lost in the world amanda hocking created. Unfortunately it was very PG (if that even) but other than that, was ok. Would recommend to younger sisters etc. but definitely not the best choice for more mature readers.

The best book of the series - Alice gets stuck in the middle of a murder mystery and has an identity crisis all at the same time.
