This book is a collection of posts from the Freakonomics blog, so while most of the posts are funny, they are a tad dated. It did not capture the imagination like the first few books, but if you have enjoyed those original and it's sequels, this book is for you.

Interesting and thought provoking, especially when covering some controversial topics. Yes, each one is briefly touched upon, and the postulates aren’t the result of in-depth research, but they do elicit a “Hmmm, I never considered that. This needs further exploration” response. All in all, I enjoyed this book and all the other pieces of the Freakonomics body of work.

Eh.... I love their podcast and Freakonomics and Superfrekonomics so this book was almost like a super long podcast. For me it was like a review from all the prior podcasts I had listened to so that was nice so remember some interesting facts. Other than that, it was just ok.

Another of the Freakonomics offsping. A collection of blogs in a book. Readable enough, though a few old ideas. Little to shock.

“Rants” is truly an apt word for this book (and its even in the title)! Utterly disappointed with the lack of data-driven analytics and insights I’ve come to expect from Freakinomics.

Think of this as Freakonomics Lite. I don't read the blog, so this was new to me. Brief and not as developed as their other books or podcast. The most moving was Levitt's reflections on his sister who died of cancer.

I enjoyed reading this. The insights are just as good as their previous books, and more varied. Pity some were a little long, but I enjoyed them nonetheless

Very quick read. Being new to freakonomics helped me enjoy this book a lot as I had never read any of the writings prior to this book. Learned a lot and I'm definitely going to check out some of their other stuff.
