You can feel the gravity of coming of age. At times it was slow reading since it’s character driven more than plot driven. However reading this hurt really good.

This is a coming of age story that follows a girl from 7 to 18 and the trials of her life growing up with a single mom and a father battling addiction. I really liked the climbing aspects of this book, as they were unexpected to me.

I liked this book but didn't LOVE it. No real complaints, just wasn't a five star read for me.

This book was very character driven, to the point that there wasn’t much of a plot at all. I really enjoyed the intimacy of growing up with Sam, and learning about her world in both a 3rd person omniscient and 3rd person limited view. It was very unique.
