Amber Hunt’s true-crime podcasts such as Accused are thought-provoking and poignant. While some of these cases were interesting, this book depicted very basic information.

I had to shelve this one for now at page 49. I have far too many books in my "to-read" pile to keep going with this one.

There really isn't anything wrong with this book. It's a collection of unsolved murders; some of which I am familiar with and others not so much. I have read a lot of true crime books and have listened to a lot of true crime podcasts and this book just didn't grab me.

One thing it does have going for it is the format. Each unsolved murder is written in a precise detailed manner, no extreme or unnecessary details of the gory bits and each murder is approximately eight pages long. You can pick up the book and read it in any order you choose without missing anything.

So, even though I have shelved it for now, I would still recommend it for anyone who is into true crime but doesn't want to be bogged down by a full length book.

Well-written synopses of famous unsolved murders with helpful maps and timelines. This book does a good job presenting unbiased overviews of all of the relevant suspects and theories about each case. I also appreciate that there are no grisly crime scene photos. I had already read about most of these crimes, in some cases extensively, so this is geared more toward the true crime newbie.

Fun little read, but a lot of the cases will already be very familiar to you if you watch Buzzfeed Unsolved's True Crime videos. They've definitely picked the high-profile unsolved murders that most people who are into true crime will already know the details of.

i don't usually rate non fic, but this lit had grammatical errors and it makes me question the accuracy ... also everything in this i absolutely could've found easily in a single google search but some of the earlier cases i hadn't originally heard about so i guess there's that?

Interesting read, majority of cases I'd never heard of and the photos helped understand the age/location of the murders. A brief overview but very interesting all the same.
