How hard it is to whistle the first time, you blow and blow and blow and then....this story tells all that and more.

A solid secondary effort by Keats and nice to see the vibrant city while on the move.

[b:The Snowy Day|310258|The Snowy Day (Peter, #1)|Ezra Jack Keats|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1347624377l/310258._SX50_.jpg|51286] is my favorite, but Peter is a great character though I was upset because he learned to whistle and I never did.

Peter keeps trying to whistle and is finally able to call his dog Willie. Love the child appropriate behaviors.

Reading a second book by an author you love often ends in disappointment...but this did not! Snowy Day is one of my favorite books from our bookshelf and this is just as entertaining and cute.

Read this to my class as part of a national read project where we read 'Snow Day'. We had many of Ezra Jack Keats books available for the class to look at and for us to read to them.

Beautiful illustrations and great story. Willie hears another person whistling to his dog and wishes he could whistle too, but he can't seem to do it. He finds other play along the way until at last he learns to whistle.

This has been a favorite of both my boys. The simple story, the universal urge of children to whistle, the fantastic artwork - in my opinion it's perfect.

This is a classic I give as a gift often.

My first time reading a book by Ezra Jack Keats. A cute story about a boy who learns how to whistle. This caught my eye because the little boy is African American.
