I guess, taking into account publishing dates, this is the prequel to Nicole Pyland's All the Love Songs, which I read first and enjoyed much in the same way I enjoyed No After You. But it was nice to get a little background on Petyon Gloss and Dani Wilder, who play such an important role All the Love Songs and, I'm assuming, the rest of the books in the series.

Dani Wilder's a super model, who's dating her high school friend-turned boyfriend. But as much as she loves him, something is holding her back. He's super busy with his work and she's barely home thanks to hers. And he's fine, really, but she's not ready to move into him or make any great commitments. Peyton Gloss is the current global face of pop music and basically everything she does is front-page news. While performing at a charity event, Peyton sees Dani across the room and knows she has to meet her. The fact that Dani Wilder is beautiful does not surprise Peyton--she knows she's a super model--but there's something about her that Peyton is just drawn to. So they meet and they become friends, only Peyton's never felt this way about her friends before. But Dani is straight (and has a boyfriend) and for all the rest of the world knows, Peyton is, too. But this is definitely different and they both feel it.

There's nothing that's OMG AMAZING here, and that's okay. Sometimes you just want to pick up a book you know won't let you down and you can go back to again and again, even if it so very obviously a work of fiction. And Peyton and Dani are both great and they're even greater together, so I don't mind spending time in their world.
