ARC from NetGalley for honest review.
Black Dawn wasn't my favorite. Not even close. I just didn't feel the suspense like I did in the other books of the series.
Lexi is so smart but it's almost like she has no common sense. She's running from crazy people but she answers the phone when it says "Unknown Number" and nobody says anything when she does answer... Like HELLOOOOO! Parker shouldn't have let that shit happen. He's too good for that. So I was a little disappointed in him on that part.
Anyways... This just wasn't my favorite. It was good. Not great. I still need more Titan!

*Sigh* Parker Black. How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
You are soooo very smart.
You are FREAKING sexy. ( In the typically fantastic TITAN way)
Did I mention that you're an MFing BADASS?

Parker Black and Lexi Dare have known each other for a couple of years, thanks to Lexi's romantic relationship with Parker's friend, but unbeknownst to either of them, they've been connected for far longer. As BlackDawn and SilverChaos, their prowess as hackers knows no bounds and on the rare occasions that either of them do hit a snag, there's no one else they would turn to. With Lexi's personal life reaching a point of no return, Parker is the one person she knows she can turn to. Things get chaotic pretty quickly and the attraction the two have always felt for one another but have never been able to act on evolves into much more. These two seem like opposites but have a great deal in common and are equals.
Whether you've only read one or two of the books in the series or have devoured every single one of them (high five!), Parker is that one character who exudes a level of mystery because there isn't really a great deal about him that's shared other than he's the go-to tech guy in the Titan Group. And, like all great mysteries, Parker Black had layers to him, and as you peeled off each one, you could see that there was so much more to him and he certainly held his own when he left the comfort of his techno-savvy "batcave". I like that he was paired with someone like Lexi Dare and that she was as much of a genius as he was. The realization that he was BlackDawn and she was SilverChaos was one of my favorite moments in the book.
I've made no secret how addicted I was to all things Titan while reading the series. Going from one back to another, nine in total, in a span of three days can prove to be tiresome, but I felt anything but tired. With enough action and suspense to keep your blood pumping and a fair amount of sex and romance to put on your smile on face, these books were the kind of company you want to keep with you when you're looking for more than your run-of-the-mill alpha military romance. You'd think that after reading this many books, I'd have my fill of the Titan series, but nope. I would never say "no" to more, but if this is truly the end, then what a way to go. The series has become an all-time favorite and Black Dawn gets five stars. ♥

Absolutely the best story yet
Parker, the boy genius, who is always in the background of Titan has finally his story and has met his match with Lexi.
Whenever, Parker would send out a SOS for help to solve computer issue, one person was always there-SilverChaos. Little did he know that she was his best buddy's girlfriend, Lexi, a hacker extraordinaire in her own right. They meet when he helps her after she shows up on his door step, when she's been beaten by Matt, who is also his best friend.
Lexi is spoon asked to betray her country when a problem she designed, is stolen by the ARO, a terrorists group in their one back yard who wants the program to steal from the military wives all their person info.
I'm so glad the that Parker meets his match because Lexi was worth the wait and she's the best for last unmarried Titan guy. The updates on all the Titan men and women was a welcome addition to story. I loved this book, if any of the new guys get a book, I will definitely be there to read them.

Wow these Titan series books are amazing. They are just so intense from beginning to end. I was telling my husband about the story and how awesome it is and he just kind of laughed. I was just like no, you don't understand. This author takes these characters and makes you instantly fall in love with them, instantly care about them and want them to be okay, then throws them into so many intense situations they have to get through and you just cannot put it down. Whenever I think okay, I can relax a minute, the danger is passed something else comes up. I love it. All the emotions are just cranked up a level and it is such an amazing read. It is hotter, steamer, more tense, just more everything. I love this series.
Black Dawn was just as amazing as all the other books by this author I have read (which reminds me - I have a few more books from this series I haven't gotten to yet. I really need to fit them in). When I first started reading this book, the prologue, I was a bit confused. I didn't like Matt at all, even when he was being a "nice" guy. I hadn't read the synopsis (I just saw it was a new Titan book and said yes please!) and was wondering how in the world this would be about Lexi and Parker if Matt was involved. Oh you quickly find out and ah, these books. Lexi was an interesting one to read. She is kind of leading a double life. There is her fun, strong hacker self on one side and her weak, puts up with abusive a-hole other side. I didn't understand how such a strong person could put up with so much. She even thinks how she doesn't know why she puts up with it. How did she get to this place where she is slowly losing herself? Where she is losing her friends because she never gets to see or talk to then. Where she is just becoming a shadow of her real self. You just feel bad for Lexi and everything she is going through, but at the same time you can see how strong she can be. How amazing she really is. She doesn't always make the best or right decisions, but she needs to figure things out herself.
Parker has always likes Lexi, but she is his friend Matt's girl. He doesn't really care for Matt, especially more recently as he has become an even bigger jerk. but he puts up with him for the small amount of time he can spend with Lexi. Parker works for Titan as the computer hacker expert. He is really good at his job, working under the handle Black Dawn online. He sometimes teams up with another hacker, Silver Chaos, who is also amazing. He thinks highly of the guy and Silver has helped him out when he needed it in mission critical times.
When Parker witnesses first hand how out of control Matt is with Lexi he is torn up inside. He wants to help, wants to keep her safe, but he doesn't know what to do if she won't leave Matt. Man I loved Parker. His whole analytical style, his not knowing what to say or do at certain times, was all just so cute! He was adorable, and really really hot. Phew, things between Lexi and him were just on fire!
Parker knows Lexi is keeping secrets, but that is okay. He knows she has some issues to work through and just hopes that one day she will trust him enough to tell him. He was wonderful with her, always thinking about what she needs and trying not to force his wants onto her. They were amazing together.
When their two worlds combine, their online world and their real life world, it was so awesome. These two are just perfect for each other! When things go wrong and someone is after Lexi she has to learn to trust Parker to take care of her. She didn't realize exactly who he is and what he does so she tries to keep him out of trouble for his own good. Oh it was perfect. These two are just amazing together and I loved every minute of this book. Now to go back and read the rest of the books in the series I have missed because man are these books good.

Ok I was bad, I skipped straight from the first book to the Black Dawn (this one). I wanted to read them in order but I just couldn't hold off as this one was calling my name. I'll admit that it wasn't quite as good as I had hoped for but I still enjoyed it.
Two years prior to this book's start Parker leaves a party early and in doing so misses his chance to meet Lexi. Instead Lexi meets Parker's friend Matt who somehow manages to charm her into going out with him. Fast forward two years Matt is controlling and abusive, Parker is struggling with his attraction to Lexi, and Lexi while attracted to Parker is mostly wondering how she let herself get to where she now is in life.
Personal life aside, Lexi doesn't have a normal job parse, instead she is a hacker. She has found a hole in the security of a social media web site that many military family's use when the site owners refuse to purchase her patch she then looks to auction it off. Some how a terrorist group has found out abut this and they are now out to kidnap her and her software.
So a lot going on, and action and plot wise this book is pretty good. The problem is Lexi, she has these hang ups that she just can't seem to get past. Add to that her 'do it all herself and don't ask the guy with guns and experience to help attitude', well that's what really knocked it down for me. Still a good read though.

His arms had surrounded her with a manly scent tinged with the smell of outdoors and gunpowder, like some superhero aphrodisiac.Seriously, Cristin Harber had me at "superhero aphrodisiac."
But then she sealed the deal with
Nothing said life on the run like dessert for breakfast.Clearly, we are kindred spirits. ;)
Black Dawn, the 6th full-length book in the Titan series, was the first one I've read (and really did work fine as a standalone), but it definitely won't be my last--thank goodness the series is available on audio, because otherwise I'd have to wait for five open slots in my reading schedule, and I'm pretty sure I don't have that much patience.
Black Dawn is a sexy, fun, and suspenseful read--if I could have read it in a single sitting, I absolutely would have. (Darn you, real world! Always messing up my reading plans...) I loved Lexi and Parker, two computer nerds who were clearly made for each other, even though they are pretty much on opposite sides of the fence--a hacker and a tech guy for a security firm that works with law enforcement and the military.
In spite of--or because of?--their differences, they're a great couple--worlds better than the toxic relationship Lexi finds herself in at the beginning of the book. Parker and Lexi actually knew each other in real life for a couple of years--as well as virtually for even longer--which made what might have otherwise seemed like insta-love a whole lot more believable. Parker not only gives Lexi a security she's never known before, he also shares with her the only family either one of them has ever known--the close-knit Titan group.
Just the glimpses we get of the rest of the team members in this book have me so ready to take on their books ASAP.
The only part that gave me pause was the Monarch program, the fictional social media website that is geared toward military families. No way would they be able to share all of the information online that the book claims they're sharing on it. So not going to happen...though the idea of it being possible certainly did an excellent job of amping up the gravity of their situation, that's for certain. (And do people who come up with fixes for security problems in sites like that one really auction them off to the highest bidder when/if the original sites' creators refuse to spend the money to buy them? Because if so--holy scary stuff, Batman. Seriously, that just can't be right.)
On the whole, though--such a fun read. I can't wait to back up and read the rest of this series.
Did I mention it's gonna be soon? ;)
