Black Dawn by Cristin Harber

Ok I was bad, I skipped straight from the first book to the Black Dawn (this one). I wanted to read them in order but I just couldn't hold off as this one was calling my name. I'll admit that it wasn't quite as good as I had hoped for but I still enjoyed it.

Two years prior to this book's start Parker leaves a party early and in doing so misses his chance to meet Lexi. Instead Lexi meets Parker's friend Matt who somehow manages to charm her into going out with him. Fast forward two years Matt is controlling and abusive, Parker is struggling with his attraction to Lexi, and Lexi while attracted to Parker is mostly wondering how she let herself get to where she now is in life.

Personal life aside, Lexi doesn't have a normal job parse, instead she is a hacker. She has found a hole in the security of a social media web site that many military family's use when the site owners refuse to purchase her patch she then looks to auction it off. Some how a terrorist group has found out abut this and they are now out to kidnap her and her software.

So a lot going on, and action and plot wise this book is pretty good. The problem is Lexi, she has these hang ups that she just can't seem to get past. Add to that her 'do it all herself and don't ask the guy with guns and experience to help attitude', well that's what really knocked it down for me. Still a good read though.
