You need the introvert-driven Tesla but he came paired with the necessary extroverted counterbalance. Imagine if a shadier character than Thomas Edison got to Tesla first. Then what?

Susan has 5/5 on story-telling, so captivating.

We all know the terms introvert and extravert in our culture, but the way Cain challenges the bias towards extraversion in work, public speaking, schools, relationships, and parenting brings forward the need for balance.

She compiles a number of research examples, from the 60s to present day, to demonstrate how introverts have so much more to manage throughout their lives.

Of course, there are examples of how both of these traits are valuable as well, how in some cases introverts excel, while in others, extraverts do.

I found this a thorough, well thought out exploration of the subject, and can use it in my work and life in general. Excellent book.

This book was really great - easy to read and lots of fun pop-psychology facts, like introverts salivate more when they lick lemons than extroverts. Definitely worth a read regardless of whether you're an introvert or not because you probably have friends, coworkers, and family who are introverted.

Interesting book... I agreed with probably 75% of the ideas. But I hated the characterization of Rosa Parks (who was much more of an activist and rabble rouser than this author gave her credit for) - she may have still been an introvert, but she was also marginalized because she was a woman, lower-income, etc.

There were some strategies I hadn't really considered for dealing with being an introvert in our society, might be useful for folks along those lines.

Boy I wish I'd had this book to offer my parents and teachers about, oh, twenty years ago...
